“Good food and value”

The giant shrim are excellent at sam's. The service is OK but the food makes up for anything the service lacks.

“Obscene amount of food”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

Just so you know what you're looking at this is a kind of dive type almost fast food joint but the food is great but just far too much of it.

Lady at the entrance was kind of rude and abrupt and just sat there reading her book and barking out orders to you on where to sit - really unfriendly

Server was good and attentive

Menu - we all had combos which we each ate less than half of, just too much food

Food itself - fried shrimp and fried chicken were very good, fried fish was a bit dry and tasteless

More a cafe than restaurant and no beer, would go elsewhere for southern seafood, this is just fried stuff in a basket where its really all about quantity and quality suffers.

More a funny experience to talk about with huge plates and some odd accent problems with our server than a culinary experience worth talking about

Rob

If you are hungry this is the place to go!!. Portions are plentiful!!! Try the combo platter....plenty to share or take some home. Excellent service also. We will go back again when we are in the area.

“Catfish & Shrimp”
Reviewed May 8, 2012

Go here for great catfish and shrimp. The desserts aren't bad either! The portion sizes are also pretty nice.

“omgosh - you won't believe all the food!”
Reviewed April 28, 2012

My mom (80+) and I (50+) ate there 4-16-12 - the helpful young man at the Louisiana Tourist Rest Stop coming east on I20 told us about it when my mom asked where is a good place to eat seafood - and you will really not believe all the food you get! Janet was our waitress and she was so sweet - brought us our tea very quickly and let us have couple of min to make up our minds - I decided on shrimp only - 6 w/ff and coleslaw - mom - fish -3/shrimp -3 w/ff and okra - 1st - yall this aint no dinky shrimp! My order of 6 was more like 10 huge shrimp - my mom had 4 fish and 8 shrimp!!! we had to take alot w/us and finish it later, the pie looked great, but was so full - just could not try it this time - but I will be back!
