I stayed at the Caretaker's cabin for one night. While no paranormal activities were encountered, the cabin is a wonderful alternative to staying in the mansion and I highly recommend it. I also had dinner at the restaurant and it was very nice also. My reservation included a tour of the mansion which was fun and informative. All of the staff was very, very nice. Everyone there went above and beyond to help make my stay a wonderful experience. I definitely want to return and stay in the mansion next time.

Room tip: Choose a mansion room or caretaker's cottage for best paranormal encounters

We absolutely loved it, found out I was a decent of the Sterling family that owned the Plantation many years ago. It was very interesting and felt like coming going home for me. We ate in the restaurant and the food was wonderful.

Get a history lesson along with a relaxing stay at The Myrtles Plantation. My wife and I were treated like family in the Southern tradition of grace and hospitality. We also enjoyed the "Haunted" history of this grand old mansion. The plantation has been lovingly restored and mantained by the current owners.

Myrtles is lovely and the staff is very friendly. We stayed in main house and had the whole house to ourselves which was fabulous! While you're there be sure to take a tour of the house, the history of the place is quite interesting. The restaurant is great too.

We stayed the night of March 31. We were in the Caretakers Cottage, my adult daughter and myself. We drove up from New Orleans airport and this was our second overnight at a plantation. The drive up approaching the St. Francisville is particularly beautiful rolling hills and the spring flowers and shrubs a bloom. We arrived late afternoon. Checked in and our bags were taken to the Caretakers Cottage, by a very nice helpful young man. You can not drive or park your car at the cottage, but directly behind the gift shop/checkin building. We went to our cottage and looked around. Very cool and what a great front porch. Very nice for two adults with two queen beds. Not on the large size but comfortable for two for overnight, it is a caretakers cottage after all. We relaxed for awhile, then decided to walk the grounds and take pictures as it was getting late in day. Did a full ground tour and snapped tons of pictures my daughter also used film. The outside of the plantation beautiful. The detail work is just beautiful! Appears to be more of s creole style plantation, and not one with massive pillars, but more detail and a wrap around front porch that is amazing. We walked the rest of the grounds and everything was well kept, and the gardens on the grounds are lovely! Went back to our cottage relaxed and went for dinner at the onsite restaurant. Stopped and relaxed on the back or how rockers and met Lisa the night manager. What a nice person and full of information and paranormal stories, very fun and interesting. Came back to the room, and the night was very cold and opted to stay at cottage relax on front porch. Saw a few families ghost hunting after dark. We went to bed around nine, if anything paranormal happened we were out cold, and had no clue. We woke very early as the breakfast help and cook were coming in, they waved and said they were putting coffee on come over. Really nice guys talked with them about their experiences drank coffee and then ate breakfast. Breakfast was very good. Went back to room showered, packed up, checked out and waited for the tour. The inside of the plantation is very beautiful and the furniture is authentic, not what I expected as the outside is more of a cozy look. The detail of the moldings, carvings and furniture are elegant and beautiful! Our tour guide was amazing. She was great with the history, and a wonderful at all the ghostly tales. We had a wonderful stay and time! The cooks and luggage guys are wonderful people and made us feel at home!
