Greenwood Plantation B&B is extremely isolated and very creepy. The plantation is beautiful, and I strongly advise seeing it, but I can not recommend staying the night there. One problem we encountered was that the room smelt VERY strong of pesticides. The location, however gorgeous, is about 5 miles of a not so major road. There are no phones in the rooms and our cell phone got no signal, so you are literally out there without any access to the outside world. This may seem nice if there are several other people or you can carry a gun, but if you are two women and 2 of only 4 guest it is a little eery (ie: The Shining by Stephen King). When we arrived the owner Richard Barnes was very nice, but there was a beer bottle on the table outside the office. Without knowing anything about Mr. Barnes I found the beer bottle unsettling. Mr. Barnes said he would be there all night, but when we went to find him with our phone concerns he never came to the door. We put the key and a note in his truck and left. I contacted Mr. Barnes to make sure he received his key and to ask for a refund- he refused (and denied there was a beer bottle out front, saying he was not a drinker) and said our unsettled feelings were nothing he could fix- TRY PUTTING PHONES IN THE ROOMS!!!!
