I have been to this restaurant so many times, but not for the food. To drink a glass of wine on the balcony and take in the Lake...

We dined at Satterfield's on the Wednesday evening between Christmas and New Years. The dining room was nice and we sat right by the windows that looked out onto the river. Unfortunately, it was dark when we arrived and we weren't able to enjoy the view. We had the Ribeye (nightly special, $12.99) and the Fried Catfish (also the nightly special, $9.99) and a bowl of soup with cheese (and something). My wife thoroughly enjoyed the soup, I enjoyed the catfish (light with tasty breading, and a large helping), but my daughter was only luke-warm on the steak (I grill them all the time at home and she likes Daddy's steaks better). The service was good, and if you stick to the nightly specials, the prices are good.

We had a wonderful family dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly even though we did not have reservations. Several tables filled, but was not busy. Our orders for drinks were taken quickly and the 2 for 1 Bloody Marys were great! Bread was good, but was room temp, would have been nice warmed on this cool evening. Salad portions were large, practically too much for the chilled plates! We all opted for seafood and were delighted with the variety. The DIL found dill tilipia delicious and the veggies that accompanied it were colorful and full of flavor. The oyster, shrimp and catfish was lightly breaded and lightly seasoned, fried quickly and were absolutely a joy to consume. Breading was such that you could really savor the flavor of the food. BUT, please get rid of the takeout type plastic containers of butter, sour cream, etc. Such a nice place screams for condiments in "real" containers. Use those in the bar downstairs. Our waitress was attentive, but didn't hover. Even though the dining room was quite spacious, the atmosphere was quiet, relaxed and warm. Much too full for dessert, but we shall be back to enjoy the view during the daylight hours and will start will the dessert next time.
