Driving home from Texas to Virginia, we decided to try several restaurants for Cajun food. New Iberia was a little off our path, but it was great. We started with crawfish bisque (my favorite), tried the Etouffee, and then the shrimp gumbo. Our server had told the owner/chef that we were out of town folks wanting to try a bunch of things, so he came out with our first dish and came back about four more times asking how we liked it. At one point, he gave us instructions on how to eat stuffed crawfish shells in our gumbo. Finally, we couldn't hold another bite, but he tempted me into trying the duck and oyster gumbo. Wow. It was all great, and we loved the place and the food!

New Iberia is fortunate to have Chef Alex Patout return to his home town as Exec. chef at Landry's Seafood Restaurant. The restaurant is clean, waitstaff friendly and prompt , and the food is fresh and delicious . Chef Alex presents an incredible seafood buffet, loaded with fresh Louisiana seafood and his signature dishes. But we ordered off the menu so we could have the broiled trout topped with lump crabmeat. It was fantastic. The fried eggplant appetizer was money as well.
We are going to make Landry's a regular from now on.

It was great service and great food. If your looking for cajun food options when visiting the area, this is the place. They have every cajun thing you can think of. The chef came out and made sure everything was done just right.
