We had a very pleasant experience dining at Warehouse 1 in Monroe. The place is a little hard to find on a rainy night, but even at 6pm the gravel parking lot was busy. It’s not a fancy place inside but you will be well taken care of as they appear to have almost too many employees. All the courses came out of the kitchen fast and were delicious. The gumbo was some of the best I’ve ever eaten – not thin as New Orleans gumbo sometimes is. The onion rings and fried green tomatoes were excellent. We had both the Snapper Supreme and Snapper Beurre Blanc. Looking at these 2 you can’t tell them apart. The sauces were good but not great. While it’s not much of a complaint, it was too much fish to eat. There are a lot of sides to choose from but both of us picked the vegetables. I’m told all the desserts are homemade as are the salad dressings. Definitely an excellent experience and I would go again but try something different – maybe the blackened snapper or redfish with cheese grits. Bring your credit card as it’s a bit pricey.
