“Good Food, nice old building, not enough to eat, not enough value-bring your checkbook”
Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Cotton was recommended by some relatives, I checked out the menu and prices so I knew what to expect price wise and made reservations. It is downtown near the river, no problem parking, seated right away, order taken quickly. No salads, very little bread, when the entrees came, I was disappointed in the small portions for that price. The taste was excellent. The atmosphere was that of an old restored building, lots of nice wood work, quiet. Service was very good. But I just didn't leave here satisfied, maybe I just wasn't go me. Anyway, give it a try you might like it.

“Unexpected excellence”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

In town for a funeral service and running barely on time, we spotted Cotton and dashed in for a quick lunch. We told our waitress, Malia, we were tight on time, and she quickly recommended that day's plate lunch. We had our food in about two minutes. It was a delicious and generous serving of pot roast with cabbage and mashed potatoes. We had our bill paid by the time we finished, and we only regretted not having time for one of the desserts we saw on neighboring tables. The restaurant was well appointed, quiet, and the service was wonderful. The food was far superior to any we normally find in small towns. Somebody in the kitchen knows his or her trade very, very well.

“The best place to eat in Monroe”
Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

I have been to cotton 4 times. It's a wonderful treat. We went for Sunday brunch on our last visit. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere is special, and our server was fantastic. I love that the menu has been slightly different every time we have been because they use local, fresh, and seasonal ingredients. The duck wraps are fantastic, and I order them every time. The red bean hummus is also wonderful. I eat here every chance I get. If you visit Monroe, don't miss it!

“Creative Romance with Food”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

There are few restaurants that are in the pursuit of fresh, local ingredients prepared with imagination. Cotton would be the exception and a great celebration of a passion for excellence.
The bar is fantastic and be an explorer and try a hand-made cocktail from the past!

“Ok but not great”
Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

Had high hopes but was disappointed. Perhaps it was that we got there late 9:30 pm. Most of kitchen staff had left and we could not try tasting menu.
Food was innovative in ideas but lacked in presentation. Putting fried egg on salad was good idea but it has to be loose and runny our yolk was hard and overcooked( poachedwould be better). Beef trio another good concept was luke warm and not very tasty.

High spot was old smokey drink. That is highly reccommended.

Thank Robert B
