Great place for a quick lunch on the go. Good sandwiches and coffee and if you like fruit teas they have them!

“Best Coffee Shop and Diner”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

We came across this diner after looking for an alternative to our hotel's breakfast. We loved the place, and came back several times. This is a small Italian diner featuring good Italian coffee and diner food (eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, fresh squeezed orange juice, etc.), comfortable booths. The place seemed to be popular with locals. Our food was good for a diner, staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was good. If you like diners' try this one.

“What do they serve? What's it like? What to order? Where to sit? And how to save money?”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

Before I went to Puccino's for breakfast this morning, I wondered: What do they serve? What's it like? What to order? Where to sit? And - as always - how to save money? This is what I found out...

Puccino's is not just another ho-hum coffee and pastry shop, as I had previously thought. No, no, no.

What do they serve? Besides the nice hot breakfast that I had, they also have what appears to be nice salads, sandwiches, and pizzas later in the day. And while my 8:00 AM focus was strictly on breakfast, they also offer wine, beer, and fancy schmancy martinis and mixed drinks. For breakfast - in fact throughout the day - they offer a wide assortment of fancy schmancy coffees and fancy schmancy desserts. In fact, the whole place is pretty fancy schmancy.

What's it like? Extremely well-lit and very impressively decorated, the theme might be described as commercial Italian. Mostly Mediteranean pictures and memorabilia fill every open space on the walls and shelves, and the sound system provides Italian ballads as background for conversation. Unfortunately, you order at the counter, and when your order is ready, the kitchen will shout your order number as well as your entire order over the sound system, for you to pick up at the window.

What to order? For breakfast the croissant was a bit too buttery (if there is such a thing), so much so that it tasted a bit cheesey. The grits are great, the thinly sliced ham not overly salty, and the scrambled eggs moist and fluffy. My waffle sandwich (scrambled eggs, bacon or ham, and cheese served between two waffles) was good too. The side order of fruit included with my breakfast sandwich was refreshing, and included fresh grapes, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Other tempting choices include the sammarco omelet with Italian sausage, roasted peppers and gorgonzola cheese, and the Florentine frittata with spinach, portobello mushrooms, and fontina cheese.

Where to sit? Tables and booths are distributed among three rooms, but as this is a self-service restaurant that may require several trips back and forth for food, cutlery, and condiments, the wise diner would choose one of the two dining rooms that flank the main room. There is more open space, less traffic, and thus easier mobility and more tranquility in those two rooms.

How to save money? Overall, the prices are pretty fair, but the $1.99 Egg Puccino (their own rendition of the Egg McMuffin) is two-for-the-price-of-one on weekdays. Oh, and another way to save money is to avoid the in-house "casino", which is basically three electronic gambling machines stuffed inside a fancy schmancy closet.

So there you have it. You can have a nice meal here and a pleasant experience too, if you know what to expect.

“Horrible service”
Reviewed October 9, 2011

I received horrible service here. When I pointed out to the little cashier girl who had a terrible attitude that she was being rude to a customer, she smirked and talked back at me. Even the manager couldn't stop her. The drink was indeed nice, but that's not enough to ever make me want to go back. After receiving such treatment, I went to Google to see if there were any reviews of this place. Indeed, there were tons of negative comments, and naturally, I added one too. But a few month later, all these negative reviews conveniently got deleted. I don't know whether to feel good or sad to know that I'm not the only one who felt TERRIBLE after visiting this place. Never again.
