Since Semolina is located in a shopping mall, you can look at it in either of two ways: (1) It is a good restaurant in a poor location...or (2) it is a dining oasis in an otherwise food-court environment. My opinion leans toward the second way.

Seating is comfortable and lighting is subdued. The menu features pasta of some variety in most every entree, with imaginative combinations of sauces, veggies, spices, and meat or seafood. There is something for everyone, including picky eaters and kids. I can recommend the Chicken Florentine, which is served over linguini, Shrimp Roban, which is served over sauce-scooping seashell pasta, a surprisingly superb Pad Thai, and Chicken Enchilada pasta employing penne pasta.

Whether you choose the house salad or the Caesar side salad, you won't be disappointed.

The wine list is somewhat limited, but mixed drinks are big and strong.

We were seated promptly. Service is friendly but don't expect four-star waiters. The young man who served our entrees (not our waiter) explained that the reason our entrees were placed in front of the wrong diners is that he had the information - who ordered which dish - but he was in a rush. Oh well, give him credit for honesty.

I reserve a rating of five only for must-visit establishments. A four if it is very good, and a three if it is good. This restaurant is somewhere between good and very good, a three-point five...but I will round up, since it is, after all, a dining oasis in an otherwise food-court environment.

Their chicken enchilada pasta is still fabulous! Located in the Clearview Mall so on a Friday night the parking lot was crowded, probably mostly movie-goers, but service excellent, prices reasonable, nice ambience.

This location is on the back side of a mall, right next to a movie theater. Parking on a Saturday evening can be challenging.
My review:
Food was tasty and well prepared.
Portions are too big, should offer half portions.
The wine selection was decent, not great.
The house dressing was tasty.
Don't be alarmed by the police stationed outside, they are patroling the kids at the movie theater and the parking lot.
Dress code varied tremendously from extremely casual to wedding attire.

At one time, Semolina was all over the New Orleans area, now there is only the Clearview location. Enjoyable diverse pasta dishes. Good fish dishes. Reasonably priced.

We came here for the first time and loved it! I recommend the grilled chicken with pasta as it was phenomenal. The veal he ordered was not as great, kind of overcooked/tough which is surprising for veal. We would go back again though I am pretty sure he won't order the veal again.
