My wife and I were in Metairie for business and decided on a Sunday night we would leave our hotel for seafood. Upon investigating we found that of the three restaurants we had chosen to consider that only Deanie’s was open on Sunday night, so off we went to 1713 Lake Avenue in the Bucktown area of Metairie.
Upon arriving, we encountered people standing all over the parking area near the front door. My wife got out of our car to go and put our name on the list, while I went to find a parking place in an adjacent parking lot. When I returned to the front of the building she told me our wait would be about forty five minutes. There were several large groups so our wait was actually less than anticipated.
Upon entering the restaurant proper we found that there were several dining rooms so the largeness of the building seemed to be taken to a more comfortable size. Although they were very busy our server appeared quickly and took our order.
Our drink order was delivered quickly and next came a large order on boiled potatoes. These were quite tasty and a bit spicy in that they had been boiled with crayfish, which is what we ordered. The boiled crayfish were delivered quickly and hot, but not overly spicy.
All in all the wait was not too bad, especially for a Sunday night on a holiday and the boiled crayfish were good, although there seemed to be more than the usual number without the tails. We would recommend this restaurant to others.
