Description: At the base of Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie, in the Heritage Plaza complex that serves as the hub to so much of New Orleans’ popular media, the local lunchtime population is in for a treat. A Ralph Brennan-style treat. Easily accessible from downtown through Metairie, and offering free parking and wi-fi paired with bustling service and Chef Steven Marsella’s Creolized New American menu, Heritage grill is the go-to lunch spot for those who mix mid-day business with pleasure.

The Heritage Grill is owned and operated by Ralph Brenan. They are currently open for lunch only. I think its the best place for a business lunch and/or event.

The food is fantastic. I particularly like the duck egg rolls, their chicken and andouie (sp?) gumbo. You can park free in front of the restaurant or if that lot is full, pull into the parking garage of the Heritage Plaza, where restaurant guests park free.

Also, try their homemade ginger ale. Can't get better white table cloth service at a reasonable price anywhere else.

Very convenient for business lunch if visiting Heritage Plaza offices. Menu is limited but overall food quality is good, and service is very good. Nothing outstanding - and a bit pricey. But not bad either.

Everyone knows what a great turkey BLT sandwich at lunch is like - toasty bread, enough crisp bacon, some nice roasted turkey, and of course a couple of nice slices of ripe tomatoes and some crunchy lettuce. Wait -- don't come here if you're looking for that! What you get is a fat wad of thick slices of turkey lunchmeat and one little piece of bacon on soggy bread. Yes, unfortunately, I am serious. No mayo -- not even on the side, no tomato, and no lettuce. Yuck! Who looked at that in the kitchen and said, "Send it out!"

Also, on their Heritage Grill To-Go lunch menu they offer Chewy Chocolate Chip Pecan cookies -- but they're just kidding. All they have is Oatmeal Raisin. When you open up your lunch and discover the switch and tell them it's on their menu online, they tell you nobody changed the website.

This is the kind of place where you get the feeling nobody working there is very happy.

Like I said - another Brennan's mediocrity. With them, it's all about volume and money, not the customers. There are too many other nice restaurants in the area -- Mondo, Velvet Cactus, even the Sunshine Café in the Heritage Plaza Building -- to donate to the Brennans. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere.
