"Bargain" and "New Orleans" are not ordinarily mentioned in the same sentence. But this is the genuine article. Located near the Marrero/Westwego line, its just far enought out of the high-rent district to provide exellent daily and weekly rates. Near the on-ramp for the WestBank Expressway, it delivers you seamlessly over the Mississippi River Bridge (after a $1.00 toll) into the heart of New Orleans -- the Vieux Carre, Canal St, and I-10 to points farther afield. (15 minute trip after 9am, during the commute... forget it. Sleep in!

Beyond its convenience, this place is managed nearly flawlessly -- attentive desk, breakfast, and housekeeping staff, and a manager who stays on top of the entire menagerie. Beyond a tasty breakfast (waffles, juices, coffee, Danish, Bagels, hard-boiled egg, etc), it offers free wireless hotspot for your computer, and a homely rural touch -- the daily Wall Street Journal. (Basically lost on this crowd ... better the Times-Picayune, for its endless coverage of parades, festivals, jazz happenin's -- the stuff which IS New Orleans.

For this near-native, a great place for a long-delayed homecoming. By the way, do us locals a favor: say NwÓrlns (uptown), or ŃwÁwlins (us peasants) ... we only sing new orlÉANS.

Room Tip: The suites and king rooms toward the back have the least internal bustle. Avoid rooms bordering Brea...

This was my first time staying at this hotel, although I come to the area 4 times a year. I usually stay on the east bank to be closer to friends & food, but my work site is on the West Bank so I decided to stay in the Westwego/Marrero area this trip.

The hotel seems brand new, & was almost empty. The bed's were comfortable, the front desk staff was great, the continental breakfast had a good variety (including waffles with a fleur de lis pattern in the middle, which was a cute touch). It was 10 minutes from my work site and just a 15-20 minute drive across the bridge to downtown NOLA. There's no business center, but the front desk manager let us use their computer to print our boarding passes before we left the hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel!

After my last stay at a neighboring Comfort Inn (I am a diamond elete member) where my rest each night was interrupted by couple(s) engaged in the bedspring boogie, this sleep in was a welcom relief. The room was spaceous and clean. The air conditioner's fan would run when the compressor was off providing white noise (a plus in my book). The rooms were well insulated. The interior halls were very wide. Parking for my truck 20' trailer could be a little tight, but managable.

Stayed here during Voodoo Fest and Halloween weekend! Price was perfect, as well as location. Just a short dirve to ferries that take you directly to the French Quarter. Front desk staff gave great ideas for dinner. The neighborhood is OK - not Beverly Hills, but not 8 mile either!! The only bad thing I could say was that room 111 shares wall with breakfast area - woke up to the alarm on the waffle maker going off and chairs dragging floor - at 6am!! Over all would stay again if in the area!

Room Tip: Stay away from room 111

The neighborhood is "interesting" so proceed with caution. The property seems fairly new but not well kept. The elevator carpet was filthy. The rooms are nice but the refrigerator didn't work. The extra towels we requested had been laundered but still had stains on them. The hotel was full but they ran out of food (boiled eggs, apples & muffins) for the continental breakfast by Sunday morning. The breakfast attendant was very limited with the English vocabulary which made it hard to communicate. BTW...Breakfast is from 5am - 9am which we thought were odd hours for weekend travelers. There's no pool, the TV's are "flat front" not LCD's, the workout area is small and half the equipment ( treadmill, stationary bike) was "temporarily out of order" as was the public computer in the lobby area the whole time we were there (Fri- Sun). We were told that someone would be in to repair the machines but they were still broken the next morning. Can't say we won't ever stay again but it will be our list of "last resorts ".

Whover said that this neighborhood is ok is completely BLIND. This hotel is in the "hood". There are bums everywhere and "super fly" cars all over the place. We looked out the window last night and actually saw 2 hookers in the median of the road. The hotel itsself was ok. Very nice staff. All very helpful and friendly. The "breakfast" was seriously lacking. Note to travelers. Get EVERYTHING out of your car when u go inside for the evening.

Made reservation in advance, upon arrival had my key ready, just had to sign. Room was immaculate and smelled pleasent. Wifi worked great and variety of channels on tv.. cons- all of new orleans sucks so this is a safer place than most. But be careful outside, no flat screen tvs as advertised.
