“Simply inspired”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We've dined at Trout Point more than once, and highly recommend it . In fact, the cuisine there has evolved tremendously. The new dining room is very romantic--perfect for a special dinner occasion. Service is professional without being stuffy. You won't get a lot of choice, but enough, and the dishes are always perfectly executed and fresh.

“Memorable meals”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

TRout Point Lodge served beautiful creative meals, especially the very special dinners with tasty seafood from the nearby shores. Unforgettable scallops; magnificent chowder; sumptuous soups; mouth pleasing desserts. Grilled swordfish skewers with charred bay leaves on spaghettini with saffron sauce--excellent!

“Magnifique!”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

We reserved for dinner while staying in Digby, and we loved the food so much we reserved a room for the next night and dined again! Each night brings an entirely new, inventive host's menu, with enchanting soups (a choice is offered) and memorable main dishes, focused on preparing local seafood to perfection. The more formal dining room is elegant, painted wood and granite walls with beautiful local art. Crystal and a fantastic wine list completed the picture for us!

“Dinner & Breckie both excellent”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

What really impressed us about Trout Point's food was how everything came from the local area or was an organic ingredients. The food itself was excellent tasting, but truthfully to get a whole salad made entirely from greens and vegetables grown on site is quite an accomplishment. The fish and seafood they specialize in is all local too. The haddock was so succulent and fresh; the swordfish simply prepared but amazing! Soups were masterpieces of flavour!!! And the organic dark chocolate creme brulee, wow!

At breakfast they laid out a full spread, including the house smoked salmon and the best homemade yoghurt we've ever had.

“Exquisite!”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

The lodge is owned and operated by a trio of chefs from New Orleans looking for their Acadian roots! From gathering in the main room for a pre-dinner drink, to the downstairs dining room with a blazing fire, the dining experience will captivate you! We enjoyed a shrimp appetizer that woke up the taste buds, then an Italian white bean soup made from ingredients grown here at the lodge, all leading up to the haddock gumbo that melted in your mouth with eclectic flavours to tease your senses! We finished off the meal with creme brûlée and a coffee with grand marnier...a perfect pairing! You will not be disappointed!
