“Relaxing pace to get away from it all, but it comes at a price”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

Lovely wild pace with nice rooms, fantastic food, perfect service BUT this comes at a price.
If you decide to stay here, and I do advice a stay here, just calculate carefully what it will cost you.
Every expense and I means every expense including drinks, excursions, meals and rooms of course, are subject to 15% Tax AND 18% Service charge.
The service charge is even charged on the tax so it all adds up in the end when pay time comes.

I loved our stay here, we hiked , canoed, used the hot tub, swam in the river and this is all free. The setting is gorgeous. I loved the rooms, they are not high luxury but very nice, big and cozy.
Staff know what they are doing and go ut of their way to help you.
So go and forget about the cost and just enjoy!!!

Room Tip: Any room is good but some have outdoor space which is nice in summer

From beginning to end Trout Point made our Martimime vacation! The reception was warm and welcoming, including a complimentary wine. Our room was huge and comfy. We really enjoyed the outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking, and the guides. Star gazing at night was truly amazing! Food was highlight. Without being pretentious, the plates were beautifully presented. Everything was delicious from the soups to the homemade pasta! They used lots of local seafood and things from their own gardens. Even the oat cakes put out each day were superlative!

My husband and I needed a restful get away and this lodge fit the bill. It's in a wilderness area, so it's quiet, beautiful and has plenty to do. We hiked, went fishing, swam and kayaked many times on a winding river. Basically saw no one except at meals. The food was excellent, which is a good thing when dinner is the main entertainment in the evening. Breakfasts included homemade breads and pastries and the most delicious smoked salmon I've ever eaten. There was live music at cocktail time and the service was superior. We also spent time in the hot tub, reading on the deck and botanizing in the woods. One night we went on a guided walk to look at the stars, it was a memorable experience. Loved sitting around teh campfire after dark. Very romantic. Our room was filled with handmade wooden furniture so impressive I took photos of it. This place is a bit out of the way but worth it.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces the river, beautiful view.

This was our first trip to the province, visiting the mainland only. We loved Trout Point. We will certainly return. Hard to descripe the beauty of this place and the authentic Canada-type experience. It's just what you want when you think of going to Canada in style. Everyone we met was very personable and friendly.

Truly a gem--not in the rough, but in the forest! The moment you arrive you are taken by the raw beauty of this wilderness lodge, The food and service we found equally gratifying. Wow what a place , top shelf... Trout Point Lodge is hard to do justice with a review. The rooms are very spacious and inviting. So cozy you just want to curl up & read a book. The lodge has comfortable spaces everywhere - the library, great room, around the firepit, on the island. There's a hottub for warming up in the evening and a sauna right next door.

What a refreshing stay! The place was quiet 'cause they had just opened, but we still really enjoyed ourselves. We were treated like royalty. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The rooms were really comfy and huge. The food was excellent and healthy. We kayaked several times a day and caught a few brook trout too! The live music before and after dinner (around the fire pit) was a really nice touch also.
