Out in what seems to be the middle of nowhere sits this fabulous restaurant! The fresh baked bread they serve as you wait for your meal is so moist and delicious, as is the seafood dip! Mom said she could've made a meal of that it was so good! When our actually meals arrived we were astonished by the size! The po boys could easily be split between two people. I had the cheeseburger po boy and it was literally 2 burgers! And it was amazing! There were so many choices on the menu that I was torn between quite a few things. The waitresses were all very friendly and treat you like friends. Desserts sounded amazing and looked delicious, but we were so full none of us even dared try! Everything seemed to be homemade and it was for sure worth every penny!

We’ve heard from many friends and family about the great food here. We read the reviews on trip advisor and decided to stop on our way home.

First impressions: decor was awesome. Very cool and neat. Food was excellent! The cup of seafood gumbo -filled with seafood! Great taste and nice and dark as it should be. Cup of corn and shrimp cream based soup was also filled with shrimp. Very tasty. I had the appetizer “the stack” as my entree : fried green tomato, fried eggplant and crab cake covered with remoulade sauce and shrimp. Wonderful. Hubby had the Mommas seafood salad. It was full of seafood and the serving was generous. And I can’t forget the wonderful warm bread - all that was missing was the cane syrup! Delicious

We will definitely return.

Travel 190 to BR and this was recommended by a friend from Ville Platte. Finally stopped on a Friday evening at 5:30. Surprised by the decor. Even more surprised by the menu and specials. Started with the nachos and crawfish balls. Nachos were fried flour tortillas topped with crawfish and cheese. Too many appetizers to choose from. Don't over do it. Nachos were very good. I got Slap your mama chicken. Wife got crawfish angel hair pasta. Other couple got seafood platter and stuffed portabella mushroom. Large portions and you can't go wrong with any of these. Impressive flavor. If the rest of the menu is anything like what we ordered, you cannot go wrong. Order a variety and share. Boudin stuffed pork chops ...... too much to choose from. If you are a soup and salad type of eater, good luck making a selection. Again too many choices. The one drawback was we did not save room or have time for dessert. If you are a sweets person, check them out when you walk through the door. Pecan bread pudding, cheesecake, and a piece of coconut cake that left me speechless. Should have gotten something to go, one of each. Will have to adjust travel schedule to make this a regular stop. I am impressed by quality, quantity, and variety. Rarely all of these in one place.

My 1st trip to the famed Not Your Mama's.

I left impressed. A beautiful place, wonderful people, & a menu that goes above & beyond.
From the in house scratch made baked rolls & loaf for the club sandwich. To "The Stack" fried green tomato, fried eggplant, & crab cake topped with gulf shrimp & finished with a remoulade.

It most definitely does not "suck" as mentioned by a random reviewer who stayed less than 5 minutes. I was highly impressed with the professionalism displayed by the staff as a group of 50+ bikers showed up & immediately began demanding burgers & beers as if they were a party of 5 at a dive bar.
Luckily within 5min they were on their way out, taking their rude negativity to the next poor unsuspecting establishment.
"Fun runs" are generally much more understanding & patient with the difficulties of serving 50+ people at once. This mob, however, seemed to not grasp the basic decency of calling ahead or being patient.

As someone who spends most of the year traveling coast to coast for business I can say this is a gem of a place along US 190 near Livonia.
