Wow! My husband and I were actually looking for another "Dons" that was recommended to us, but we ended up at Don's Seafood Hut. We parked in a parking lot across from the restaurant. We walked across the street and into the restaurant. The outside of the building is charming and on a corner. It has a nice "historic" or "classic" feel to it. The hostess was pleasant as she readied our table. We were seated and waitress was prompt and thorough. My husband and I ordered the Seafood Platter (to share) for $23.95 and added a gumbo for an extra $2.95. The food did take a while to come out, as is expected with any restaurant at 7:30pm. The waitress was attentive and informative on the estimated time of arrival of our food. When our food came out I was disappointed at how little the platter was. The menu had stated that this was a "BIG" plate and to clear the table for it. I feel this was misleading. However, the VALUE outweighed the QUANTITY. We were very, very pleased. With how small this plate was my husband and I still walked out full. The boudin balls....oh my gosh... I can't even begin to explain how much I loved them. I will probably be going back to get an order of boudin balls for our trip back home.

Great food and they just introduced some amazing crab cakes. We did nothing but appetizers (oysters, shrimp, crab cakes) and it was a great meal!

I went during oyster season and they were having a special; 50 cents each. They were very large and salty. We also shared an appetizer - fried crab claws. We were served such a large appetizer we didn't even order an entra.

We were looking for a place to eat in Lafayette and our GPS guided us to something that looked like a fast food restaurant. I wasn't amused but when turning around I saw Don't Seafood Hut.
It was packed with people and we decided to give it a try.
The have lots of delicious dishes when you are a seafood lover. I am not but I eat fish filet. The catch of the days was Tuna so I ordered a Tuna steak.
It was perfectly friend, the taste was unforgettable. My friend was having seafood pasta and loved it and it was the first time in my three weeks holidays that I was so happy about the food that I ordered a dessert.

The price for value was great either, so if anyone is close by, make sure you go there.

Supposedly, when you go to Lafayette, you need to try Don's Seafood Hut. By the look of the exterior of the restaurant, I didn't feel like it, but my friend insisted. It was a Lafayette experience not to be missed. Well, I would have liked to miss it, because I didn't enjoy the food at all. It was eatable, but barely.
