This is a modern hotel in a newly built area of town. The rooms are a generous size with all the amenities that you would expect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only draw back for me is that I don't drink coffee and that there was no complimentary alternative. We were only here for 1 night but we would stay here again.

Well, Springhill Suites has become our favorite hotel chain. And this hotel did not let us down, very helpful staff (great restaurant tip!), and very clean, large comfortable room with proper sitting area. All laid out very well. Decent breakfast. All at a very good price.

Excellent Hotel and staff. This hotel is in the prefect part of town. Very close to shopping and dinning. The only thing I had a problem with was they only change the sheets every 3rd day. Which isn't a big deal if it was actually done. Our first maid was great bc I was putting the kids down for a nap when she came to clean I opted to not have it cleaned. She was so sweet and took our dirty towels and trash out.

Plenty of power outlets, comfy beds, coffee machines and even microwaves in the very large, cool and quiet rooms. Ideal as a stop off from I10, conveniently located and very helpful and friendly staff.

My first experience at the Lafayette, LA SpringHill Suites by Marriott and operated by Alabama-based LBA Properties was not pleasant. I put up elderly guests for a week-long stay over the recent Memorial Day weekend. With no notice made when booking or checking in, the management elected to have the carpets cleaned throughout the entire 4-floor property during our stay. First notice notice of this activity was made same-day with a letter slipped under the door early Sunday morning Informing guests of the planned cleaning cleaning. The letter included the statement in capital letters that "guests could stay in their rooms during the cleaning but would need to move furniture on to the beds" but made no mention of potential safety hazards. When my surprised vision and mobility-challenged guests opened their door Sunday morning they were greeted by an obstacle course of 3-inch diameter vacuum hose and power cords that stretched across their door threshold and down the entire length of the hallway. There was no signage or any attempt to warn guests of the hazard. In addition, the cleaning machine in use also blocked the hallway. I guess the hotel does not regularly cater to guests with visual or ambulatory disabilities or those distracted or not expecting to have to navigate an obstacle course on the way to the elevator. Unbelievable. To make matters worse, the hallway carpet was damp all day and the next night. as was my guests room upon their return later in the day. This posed an additional slipping hazard when stepping off the damp carpet onto tile floors. Hard to understand why the hotel elected to house guests on the same floor they were cleaning carpets on during a holiday weekend and why they were ignorant of the potential hazards their decision posed to guests. In addition, the carpet cleaning crew had the main exit blocked that led to the rear parking area which has by far the largest parking capacity at this property. Glad there was not a fire or other emergency that day. And who were the carpet cleaners entering guests rooms? Contractors? Employees? Bonded? One thing is clear, guest convenience was not part of their mission. I immediately spoke with a property representative when i was made aware of the situation and they apologized for any inconvenience and promised to address the issue of blocked hallways and exits. So it came as quite a surprise to see the exact same situation the next day. Apparently inconveniencing guests is a two-day process in the LBA properties hospitality playbook. The second day, the main exit-way on the first floor and the elevator alcove on the 2nd floor were blocked by carpet cleaning equipment. Unbelievable. I travel extensively for my employer and for my own pleasure and I have never, ever observed carpet cleaning operations underway on the floor I was staying nor have I ever observed the operator of a major hotel franchise display such blatant ignorance about safety or act in such a way as to inconvenience guests with no warning posted or notice in place. Oh wait, there was that letter letter slipped under the door the morning of...thanks LBA Properties and SpringHill Suites by Marriott. The nice thing about traveling in the US and abroad is that there are so many choices. When these types of issues arise, I simply post the issues and document with photographs on social media so that my friends, family and business associates will not have to make the same mistake I did. LBA Properties also lists their other holdings in the area so I will not have to also make the mistake of staying at a property where hospitality management does not put the safety and convenience of their guests at the forefront..Yes it is a mid-priced hotel franchise. How much extra would I have to pay to have my guests not inconvenienced.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the side facing the pool due to noise. Make sure they are not having the carpets...

Please let me begin by compassionately apologizing for your recent unpleasant stay with the SpringHill Suites Lafayette at River Ranch. I understand that a member of our management team has already reached out to you and your parents during your stay on property, but again, let me assure you that it is neither LBA Properties nor SpringHill Suites by Marriott’s culture to inconvenience guest or provide unsafe conditions. As the hotel does generally run at full capacity, it is essential to keep a very vigorous and routine cleaning schedule to keep the property at the high standard of excellence that Marriott guests come to expect. Thus the on-property Management team, not the LBA Management group, had decided that a slower-period, or holiday weekend, would be less disruptive to our guests and should proceed with the deep cleaning processes at that time. Again, our sincerest apologies that this decision coincided with the time that you were visiting the hotel. Booked the stay based on TripAdvisor rankings and I was not disappointed. After a long day traveling, with flight delays getting into the small airport in Lafayette, Kassi working the front desk was excellent! She gave us a quiet room away from the elevators. Her sincere friendliness was appreciated.

The suite rooms are great. Large desk/workspace, comfy desk chair, nice mod couches and small table for if you want to eat on the couch (What SPG's Aloft chain should have looked like instead of a Youth Hostel). The bed was very comfortable. The one thing this property (and maybe the chain in general) got right, is the power outlets! They are ample and everywhere, the lamps on both bed sides have two power outlets on them, 4 outlets on the desk, outlets galore!

The Hotel is very close to River Ranch shopping and dining with a Bonefish Grille, Broken Egg Cafe, Fresh Market, etc.

The GM is to be credited for hiring an amazing staff, every employee encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful from housekeeping to engineering and all four front desk people were Excellent. Next time business calls in Lafayette this is where I will be.

This hotel is friendly, inviting, and close to many wonderful shops, restaurants, and the airport. When we arrived, we were made to feel at home and the same for when we left.

The rooms are comfortable and quiet. This is a good choice when in the area.
