“Excellent customer service”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

I was delivering a Training Course at Sedgebrook Hall and stayed over for a couple of nights (15 & 16 July 2013.

The customer care from all the staff was generally very good. In particular some people stood out. Namely, Hannah Jones (Front of House), and Mariusz (Conference Porter) who were very attentive and responded swiftly to all of my requests.

The food throughout our stay (breakfast; lunch, and dinner) was consistently very good.

Thank you, you made the job of the Trainer so much easier!

Stayed here for one night on a Groupon Deal. Twin room, with a glass of Pimms and breakfast.

The hotel itself is a lovely building, though the part where the guest rooms are can be likend to a Travelodge! No character really. The bar and restaurant are lovely, indeed the breakfast was absolutely top notch, with hot plates, and plenty to choose from. Very quick service for your individual pot of tea or coffee. However the rooms were very basic, with VERY thin walls!! When our neighbour came in from a boozy bonding session...... we heard everything!! And I really mean everything. We were just pleased he was on his own!!!! The reception girls were absolutely lovely, explained everything to us. The pool and jacuzzi were a pleasure to be in, tho individual changing rooms would have totally made that experience. As with all hotels, bar prices are slightly elevated, but you know that before you get there so are prepared for it. It was all very clean, the grounds are perfect for sitting out enjoying some fresh air and beautiful scenary. All in all, I would definitely recommend Sedgebrook, and I will definitely be going back..... with ear plugs.

Stayed for 1 night at an evening function and whilst the staffs were excellent I would comment that two very average sandwiches and two soft drinks were not worth the £20.90 price tag. Whilst I would expect to pay more for drinks at a hotel after spending the whole evening at a function in the hotel you needed to remove not from a hangover but the shock of the bar bill. No hot water from the shower in the room and overall whilst a beautiful setting and good staff the hotel felt very average.

Average --. Sad to say really as it has all the ingredients of being so much more, lovely building and grounds, long sweeping driveway, decent security, decent staff and well finished. But its just another of the hundreds of conference centres, that youll go to and instantly forget as soon as you drive off after breakfast (which by the way was very good).

Its not awful, its actually rather good as a conference centre, main hall was brilliantly air conditioned and everything was very clean.
But its not something to savour or linger on. The majority of rooms are in a fairly modern extension, reasonable sized, clean, but a bit like any average chain hotel as well.

All in all, its your typical conference centre establishment. 1 night and move on.... thats not a terrible thing by the way, but it just an average thing, hence I rate this average...

Oh and the pool is ridiculously small.. Bout the same as an average double garage space.

However, right next door is a great pub, well worth the 2 minute walk. Food is good and the atmosphere there is so much better in the evening.

Room Tip: Eat at the pub next door, much more choice and ambience

We picked the hotel as a halfway point to meet up with friends for a weekend. At £139 per couple for 2 nights b&b plus dinner on the first night, it was worth the money.
Clearly a hotel targetting the business end of the market, it makes good use of its facilities on the weekend. With a company dinner on the first night and a wedding on the second, we appreciated that our rooms were away from the action but still close to the facilities.
The rooms were reasonable and the bed amazingly comfortable. Our room looked out over open fields towards the sunset, which was a nice surprise.
The meal on the first night could have been a bit better, and I doubt there was a chef in the kitchen. The wine was quite dear as well, but the pub next door is lovely, as is the surrounding countryside. All in all a very pleasant weekend

Stayed a few times when other hotels fully booked in Swindon vicinity, generally ok but rooms nowt special in comparison to others in price category, not sure why they bothered with swimming pool, I've bathed in bigger!

Good for bar all food, although decent pub next door recommended food and beer menu.

We were on a family trip and it was Silverstone weekend, so we had to stay north of Northampton and picked Sedgebrook Hall. I was made immediately welcome when I arrived and found the reception staff particularly cheerful and helpful throughout our short stay. We did not eat there apart from breakfast which was fine, and again the staff were attentive and helpful. The room was pretty standard and the only letdown was the building itself which transmitted noise very easily.
