Introduced some out of town foodies to this top 10 best New Orleans area restaurant. The food is consistently wonderful and the atmosphere is unique. Meals were enjoyed by all. Would like to see an expanded wine list! Carrie will gladly help you select the perfect wine and has a great personality.

The food, especially the complimentary pate (you can buy some to take home) is amazing. The place transforms your senses to think you are in a French countryide B&B. The menu is full of farm to table options including the chickens and goats they have on the property - Amazing!

I'll first admit to being very lukewarm about the whole farm-to-table-local-stuff-thing. One reason is the overuse of one or two ingredients because that's what's in right now, in this case the satsuma. On the menu was a squash with "local satsuma," fish entree with "satsuma hollandaise," and for dessert, Il Flottante with dark chocolate in "satsuma juice." The latter is indeed a bit if a stretch in a restaurant supposedly grounded in French cuisine! On the positive side, the smoked salmon and quail gumbo appetizers were excellent. One of us also tried the three course $28 Market Menu, which was a good value and offered the best dessert of the evening, a Meyer lemon tart. We all felt that the entrees were basically on the “o.k.” side. The cocktails were generous and the service was superb. The location is a bit strange but the dining room was certainly very pleasant. Tip: The entree portions were quite generous so consider splitting one; the appetizers were better.

Had a pre-T-giving holiday celebration with our family. Food and ambience and service add up to a true value. Personal service from the management to the expeditor/busboy. I ate quail gumbo and shrimp and sausage with grits. We shared three deserts. The bread pudding was the best although the floating island with satsuma (locally grown orange) sauce was also very special. Out of the way location but well worth the drive.
