“red shoes chalet”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

This is only for the red shoes chalet. I am using 3 stars because I don't want to ding the other properties as I have stay at all of them and they are generally good. We have friends that pull their RV here and the chalets circle the RV lot so it is handy. These chalets (park model mobile homes) are old. They have to be 20-30 years old. They are worn, but are clean as they can be. Some have replaced the living room furniture, but the bed has got to be original. This is a good option if you want to stay with kids or want to do alot of your own cooking. The swimming pool is close by and there is rec room.

We have stayed both in chalets and in our RV in the park. It is always clean both the park and the chalets. Just stayed in chalet in Sept and RV park in October. Found both comfortable and a great place to stay and relax. Wifi worked great in park. Leather couch and chair in chalet very comfortable. Both rv park and chalet are a great value for money and we use this as a place to stay while we explore LA.

We recently stayed at the Red Shoes RV chalets at Coushatta. When we checked in, the unit had just been cleaned but not very well. There were beer bottles and cigarette butts all around the patio area. Things were still in the refrigerator from the previous guests. The bed had a large sink hole in the middle so you had a tendency to roll to the middle of the bed whether you wanted to or not. The bedroom door was off the track, drawers wouldn't work and mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers. Don't think I will stay there again.

The chalets are a neat concept but I agree with reviews that state that better CLEANING and updating is needed. I stayed here about 7 years ago and didn't feel I needed to clean the place before I used anything.
The carpet in the bedroom wasn't vacuumed, there was an empty wine bottle under the bed. Overnight, the sheet peeled away from the mattress and allowed me to see that the mattress cover wasn't changed. It was covered with hair and 'stuff '- not one person's hair either. They were different colors and types of hair! If the tubs were clean, they sure were dingy. Bleach would help. Dark build-up around shower door frames is very discouraging. Loud music from neighboring campers might be a pain to the quieter campers ~~Maybe the 12am curfew should be reconsidered.
On another note the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool on the RV grounds and the Dream Pool. The shuttle bus drivers and housekeepers are nice guys. Coushatta Casino Resort, you have a great thing going for both adults and kids... Just make sure you keep it up. Serious Travelers will find other places to go.

I actually hesitate to write this because I don't want everyone running out and hogging up all of the reservations to our wonderful, private, clean, little chalets! lol
I saw the bad reviews about terrible beds and mold or whatever so we came prepared with our own pillows, bug spray, etc. and didn't need ANY of it! The Chalets are very clean. The beds and pillows are better than ours at home! And I didn't notice anything wrong with the water pressure or the bathrooms at all.
I think they must have just updated the furniture because we saw a lot of old looking upholstered type couches and such all piled up over by the office. And the couch and chair that we had in our living room area were very comfortable leather pieces. Again..more comfortable than OUR leather couches at home. We just couldn't believe these places were only $29 a night. And what an incredible idea to have at a casino resort! If you don't want to stay in one of the three hotels and you don't have an RV then the chalets are the way to go! They are so private. You have your own little house with a nice porch and table to hang out with your friends and family. We totally loved it.
Oh and the staff...I have never been so impressed with the staff at ANY business. The ladies at the Lodge that check you in were totally pleasant and friendly as were everyone we ran across in the casino and restraunts. Don't understand the bad reviews at all.

We have stayed at this RV Resort several times and have had great experiences each time. It is not meant to be a wilderness area, but a place to park near the casino. The spaces are concrete and have a nice picnic table. Streets are asphalt, so even in inclement weather it is easy to set up your camper or motor home. Spaces are very long with some drive through and some back in. Plenty of room to park your truck. The price includes cable TV and free WiFi as well as free shuttle service to and from the casino. The shuttle service late at night is a little slow, but they provide a phone number so you can call and get a pickup promptly. We never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a pickup, as one shuttle is dedicated to the RV Park. The resort has a swimming pool, pool table and places to fish in their small stocked pond. There is also a lot of "green area" so kids can run and play. Pets are welcome but should be kept on a leash. You can even use your casino advantage card to help pay or "comp off" some or all of your fee. HOWEVER, YOU CANNOT "COMP OFF" YOUR FEE IF YOU RESERVE ONLINE.
Only if you reserve a space through the phone reservation line. We found out the hard way !

My Husband and I were in town to make a delivery,as we are truck drivers, we stay in MANY hotels in our travels, we came across this place, we decided to stay in the Chalets, as they were only $29. well the statement "You get what you pay for" is very true!!! the shower didnt have good water pressure, we had to take the head off of it to get enough water to rinse off, the bed was the WORSE bed EVER, its like a thousand pound person slept on it for a year,we both rolled into the middle of the mattress, and very noisey, it was a VERY old bed. the front doors do not lock that well, just the handle lock is all it had. mold on the bottom of the doors. we didnt sleep at all that night, so needless to say, we will never stay here again. and we wouldnt suggest it to anyone!!! oh and the staff was VERY RUDE!!!
