We have stayed at La Quinta Inns in the past and were always pleased with the accommodations. When we booked a room at the New Orleans Airport La Quinta Inn & Suites, Kenner, LA, we expected a nice restful sleep before flying home the nest day.
What a disappointment!!! The room was dirty; lots of black hair on the bed under the pillows. A gecko running around in the room and in the morning, there were ants crawling all over our luggage, the bed and the night stand! GROSS!!
When we called the front desk, they sent up the maintenance man with a spray bottle of Home Defense bug killer. We told him we didn't want him to spray our clothes and luggage.
The front desk clerks and shift manager were very apologetic and promised to have the General Manager contact us. In addition, they promised to send us a free night at any La Quinta. So far we have NOT been contacted by anyone or received anything in the mail.
We have called them twice since we got home. Both times the front desk promised to have the General Manager call us. We still haven’t heard from them!
If this is the way La Quinta treats their quests, we will never stay at another La Quinta again.
I stayed here for a short night before a 5 am flight out of New Orleans. Thinking I was looking only for a comfortable bed for a few hours, I shopped for price and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel, or at least the floor I was on, has been recently re-decorated. Comfortable yet stylish. The front desk folks were helpful with directions to the airport which was easy to find in the zero-dark-thirty hour. I don't know how much the surrounding area has to offer, but the hotel itself was perfect at a very reasonable price.
I needed a quick overnight stay near the airport. We booked here due to the restaurant and bar in the hotel - at the end of a long weekend we wanted a place where we didn't need to leave the hotel.
From check-in to check-out this hotel delivered. It has been remodeled within the last couple of months, so the lobby and guest room were in very good shape. I especially liked the ocean as ambient noise on the wide screen TV, with a comfortable bed and a desk to spread out a little work.
We had drinks before dinner in the bar, which hosted a nice crowd of guys and friendly bartender. Drinks were reasonably priced too.
The food at the hotel was prepared by Messina's restaurant, which was a great surprise and really good Italian fare.
Finally, easy check-in and check-out, with desk clerks alert, friendly, and helpful with directions and dining suggestions off property.
Room was adequate. We had two full beds in our room and one bed was not quite enough for us, not the hotels fault. The room is up to date "ish" there was a little retrofitting going on in there. The mattresses were well worn but worked, they could use new ones. There were no extra blankets provided in the closet. We did not call for one, but I would think they would have provided if we did. The breakfast is minimal but remember it is free. The little bar/grill in the lobby is good food and has reasonable price. I would caution that you avoid Karaoke night unless the other guests are much better singers than we had with us. No airplane noise at all. I would recommend this hotel
