Do not book a room here unless you want to have it sold out from under you. Booked two rooms and had confirmed reservations. Due to Super Bowl there was a 4 night minimum. We booked the four nights and PAID FOR THEM IN FULL. Knowing we would not be checking in till Friday we called and spoke to Tania Diaz and confirmed our PREPAID reservation would be honored. We were told that this would not be a problem. When we went to check in the hotel and they had cancelled both of our rooms and refused to offer any other accommodations. I am Hilton Honors Diamond and the management couldn't care less. They are rude and condescending, despite the fact that their staff had confirmed we were checking in on Friday they sold our room out from under us. Even without a room, they refused to offer a refund as they say it was non-refundable.

Here in New Orleans for Super Bowl - they SOLD my first night room out from me. They were able to accommodate me the following day for the rest of my reservation.
No apologies.
Rooms are newly renovated with all the usual amenities. Nothing deluxe. TV is positioned so when you are sitting at the work desk you can't really see the whole thing.
Bed cover is light, had to ask for second blanket.
It is directly in the flight path so you hear airplanes. Easy access to the freeway, rental car company onsite, complimentary transfer to airport.

I've stayed here numerous times and have enjoyed it every time. I would suggest requesting a room on the 6th, 7th or 8th floors as they tend to be quieter. The rooms are big, with sleep number beds. The bathrooms are a little small. Anytime I've had an issue they were quick to help me, change rooms or do what was necessary to make me happy. Plus free internet that works decently!

Second time I've stayed at this hotel for business and will be the last. The service was very poor. Requested a toothbrush/toothpaste and was told it would be brought up to the room after 2 hours of waiting went to the front desk. The woman behind the desk was talking with a couple who just arrived giving them no help what so ever with the questions they asked then burped extremely loud and looked at everyone like it wasn't a big deal. The main issue was the poor service and lack of professionalism. Another day needed to request a cab told the gentleman at the desk, he said he would contact the cab - never picked up the phone. Waited for over 45 minutes before asking for a phone book and calling our own cab. Room lacked the cleanliness of a Hilton that I expected.

we were driving from texas to miami and my kid wanted to take pics of the french quarter so we booked a stayover for the night, the hotel is easy to find just off i 10 and has decent rooms , small bathrooms like the ones you would find in japan but it was comfortable. parking is in the rear of the property. restaurant is ok from what i saw, bar is a bit small could not get a seat at 10 pm at night, other than that it was ok. ohh and check ur coffee purcalator not cleaned properly when i opened mine the top where you put in the water was full of old dust like it has not been cleaned for months.

Room Tip: rooms facing the highway are quiet, airport side not too sure but im sure it is not as quiet

If you order in-room meal service BEWARE! When we ordered our in-room service for dinner, we were told a salad was included, but were charged $6 extra for it on our bill at checkout. And at checkout we were told they couldn't do anything about it, that we'd have to call billing services when we got home. Also, staff at desk was unsmiling and not friendly at all on checkin and checkout.

I've stayed here twice now. I think they have recently done a few renovations but not comeplety. There are now flat screens in the rooms and some of the furniture is a bit different although the old chair is still there and has not been updated. This hotel is conveniently located next to the airport and right next to the freeway. Suprisingly, with the proximity to the freeway & airport along with having a room located across from the elevators my stay was quiet and I slept through the night like a baby.

The front desk was helpful and friendly and of course as you know with all Doubletree Hotels you get fresh cookies at check-in. They also had fresh apples out each day. There is complimentary bottled water in the rooms which is replenished each day. I appreciated that. This is an older hotel, but it's still clean and affordable and away from the city but not too far away and parking while free is a bit cramped and unorganized.
