Have been stopping by Brown's for years to get gumbo and/or catfish. You can't expect too much from a gas station bait shop "restaurant." However, for years the service has been good and the food great at a reasonable price. Over the past couple years, the prices have gone through the roof. Prices now approach a real restaurant with linen tablecloths and actual waiters. My wife and I stopped by today. My wife and I both spoke to the man behind the counter who took our order. We got no response and I will make no further unprofessional comments as to his appearance and manners. This was the last straw for us....I am not paying real restaurant prices for service that can't speak along with extremely small portions and have someone take $25 from me for 6 catfish strips, 1 baked potato, 3 small hushpuppies, 1 small coleslaw, and a small bowl of gumbo with 2 fountain drinks....and you pay for a refill. Pass on by and go to a real restaurant.
