We had a great two day stay there. Getting to know the hosts was one of the best parts because they could relate more Cajun history and stories than countless museums. The bed was wonderful and the backyard was nice. Just read the countless positive comments and then make up your mind to try them. You will be well served.

This was our third visit to the Crochet House and it feels like our "Home in Houma." Sally and Leland are like family and are incredible hosts. As usual, breakfasts are outstanding and are only surpassed by the company of Sally and Leland who provide insight to the culture of the Cajun Country and the Bayou. The guest rooms are spotless, the breakfast menus vary daily with Cajun specialties as crayfish gravy, grits, beignets (Leland's secret recipe). German pancakes plus bacon and eggs. We look forward to our next visit! It doesn't get any better the the Crochet House B & B. One last comment -don't arm wrestle with Leland!

Room Tip: For tips on restaurants, tours, etc., ask Sally or Leland. They are sixth generation Cajuns who kno...

My family and I (kids are 11 and 15) had a great stay at the Crochet House. Leland and Sally are wonderful hosts. The rooms are large and comforatable and we liked that they had small kitchens in each. A great value. We enjoyed the activities in the spacious back yard - a pool, volleyball net, hammocks, frog pond etc. We loved the big breakfasts each morning.
The thing we appreciated the most was that Leland and Sally treated us as friends from the start and like family by the time we left, just two days later. They know the area very well and shared great stories about growing up in the Bayou. Leland took us on a driving tour of the area and showed us the local gator hole, which was a big hit with the kids.
The area is a great place to visit as well. The food in the bayou is both fun and delicious. We had alligator, a crawfish boil, crab cakes, and frogs legs. The airboat swamp tour was a blast. We particularly enjoyed the abundant wildlife. The swamp is diverse and beautiful.
We highly recommend staying at the Crochet House.

Our stay at the Crochet House Bed & Breakfast was the ultimate B&B experience. Not only were our room spotless and had everything we needed but also we had a view of the pool and the big and beautiful garden.

Leland and Sally are the best hosts one can imagine! Every day they greeted us with a delicious breakfast (different sort everyday!) and true cajun hospitality. They made us feel like we were at home and we even got to meet a few members of their big and lovely family.

We will always remember this wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back!
If you want to experience the best of the cajun lifestyle, Sally and Leland's B&B is the place to go.

As an entertainer, Leland is at the top. As an historian of Cajun life, Sally is unsurpassed. The first day there, we spent 2 1/2 hours at breakfast learning the history and life of the Acadians who migrated here from New Brunswick to become trappers, fishermen, raconteurs as well as vital members of a small but influential community in Bayou country, Louisiana. We came to learn about the Cajuns and left fulfilled.
Of course, the accommodations were most comfortable, the breakfasts highly caloric and Leland's beignet recipe a true Cajun surprise

We stayed here 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The house with its large lot is in a quiet residential section of Houma. We had a pet friendly studio slightly detached from the main house and it was everything we could have wanted. WIFI was good, the air conditioning worked well (although the weather was so nice we often just left a window open), and the welcoming yard with the hammocks and chairs, and the beautiful azaleas, ferns, and other plants was just delightful. To top it off, Leland and Sally are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. We learned a lot about Cajun culture and the breakfasts were great. We were treated to beignets, sweet potato pancakes, and french toast with pecans, always completed with eggs and ham or bacon, and fruit, yogurt, coffee, cereal- you name it. This place is a real treasure.
