We went on a Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4. This is not an alligator tour. If you want to see gators eat this might not be the tour for you. The scenes are beautiful. The history and the information is not up to par. Kind of disappointed in the guide. Being a local, I expected more.

Reading the reviews for this tour in our hotel in Lafayette, we called and made reservations. Jimmy is the son of Alligator Annie, and a mulit generation local. We wanted to see alligators in the wild, and we sure did, but it was all the other things we did see that made it an amazing trip. Bald eagles, osprey, (with a mini bald eagle vs osprey battle in the air), great egret, snowy egret, and a little green heron. Jimmy is so knowledgeable about the area and the bayou, that we learned a lot while having the time of our lives.

This was a great swamp tour. At first, we thought we weren't going to see any wildlife, but what a surprise we got as the tour progressed. We saw all kinds of wildlife, and learned a lot about the swamp and the wetlands. Our guide was excellent and was more than happy to answer any questions asked of him. Worth the cost of the tour!

Our tour took off promptly at 10:00am as advised. The tour was a little light on people because there were a couple of no-shows. This was actually nice because it allowed for more elbow room. Jimmy, our very educated guide, was absolutely amazing and gave lots of good information.

The water levels in the bayou were at peak levels due to heavy rainfall in the area which required us to duck down and we went under a couple of bridges. We travelled through miles of canals and saw some amazing landscapes, vegetation, and animals.

The bald eagles were out in full force and some Jimmy was able to feed. He threw chicken skin into the water and the bald eagles would swoop down and grab it. Seeing these majestic birds that close was truly amazing! Jimmy capped everything off by finding one of the alligators he affectionately calls "lollipop". Once she heard his boat, she moved in for a chicken meal.

All in all, this swamp tour was amazing!

had a great experience doing this tour. recommended it to any visitors we had in the area. its fun, beautiful, and informative. we fed the gators! but it is my understanding that that is only allowed at certain times of the year. tour guide was great and price was very reasonable.
