Our tour took off promptly at 10:00am as advised. The tour was a little light on people because there were a couple of no-shows. This was actually nice because it allowed for more elbow room. Jimmy, our very educated guide, was absolutely amazing and gave lots of good information.

The water levels in the bayou were at peak levels due to heavy rainfall in the area which required us to duck down and we went under a couple of bridges. We travelled through miles of canals and saw some amazing landscapes, vegetation, and animals.

The bald eagles were out in full force and some Jimmy was able to feed. He threw chicken skin into the water and the bald eagles would swoop down and grab it. Seeing these majestic birds that close was truly amazing! Jimmy capped everything off by finding one of the alligators he affectionately calls "lollipop". Once she heard his boat, she moved in for a chicken meal.

All in all, this swamp tour was amazing!

had a great experience doing this tour. recommended it to any visitors we had in the area. its fun, beautiful, and informative. we fed the gators! but it is my understanding that that is only allowed at certain times of the year. tour guide was great and price was very reasonable.

What a wonderful day - took a bit over an hour from NOLA to get there - had a nice lunch at the Bayou Delight (if eating, understand it is not fast food.... plan at least an hour to eat) - then off for an adventure with Jimmie. It was a chance to learn about a great lady (Annie) a bit about how folks live in the Houma area as to get to the swamps and marshes one travels through a canal that winds through neighborhoods - once you break loose into the Mandalay nature center - it was a great experience - lots of wildlife (note Alligators do hibernate in the winter) - A great value and a fun day

We took the afternoon tour with a mix of Muslims and French people but had a great time. The owner/guide took his time and we were not rushed. We saw alligators, egrets, Eagles and lots of beautiful swamp land. Great value for the money.

swamp and marsh. The tour is by boat, the guide is the son of the founder and very well versed on the flora and fauna. The trip is about two hours long..or longer. He sticks only to the departure schedule!
