Small spot with very good Cajun style comfort food! Outstanding shrimp & crab stew! Excellent beans & potato salad! Reasonably priced & packed (always a good sign).

A good place to get seafood and other local cuisine just like your Cajun Mama's cooking. Very casual, homey atmosphere. On a recent trip I got the daily special which was fried catfish with red beans and rice and potato salad. It was almost more than I could eat. Prices are reasonable too.

Lunch with business associates. Was a family styled, great spot for a party of 10. Chicken fried steak, red beans and rice, and boudin! Great value for the meal.

Service was great. Po Boy was great. Not fancy, but just a simple place with good Cajun food. Do not miss the Peach Cobbler. Wow.

Yesterday was my first trip to Abears Cafe, was made to feel right at home from the minute I walked in. The staff is more than welcoming (just like going to your Aunts house), helpful and attentive, the food outstanding, had the Wednesday daily special which was Catfish Abear, DYNAMITE. Started with a cup of their famous chicken and sausage gumbo which is worth the trip on its own, rich and flavorful full of the love that comes from home cooking. The catfish Abear is covered in a rich etouffee with additional sides.
I will be going back for the all you can eat catfish for dinner on Friday
