It's across the Crescent City Connection and in an unattractive suburban sprawl area, but the lack of ambiance is made up for by the fresh, wonderful food. Kim Son has both Chinese and Vietnamese, but your best bet is ordering off the Vietnamese Menu. The lemongrass beef kim son speciality and the salt baked shrimp are wildly popular, as is the whole broiled fish, but if you are a vegetarian, there is a special menu just for you. Don't miss the Veg Vietnamese Hot and Sour Soup and especially the Bean Cake with Black Pepper. Prices seem high until you see the portion size, definitely for sharing.

We both had the crab and asparagus soup to start followed by the hot braised squid cooked with carrots, green onions, peanuts, ginger and sauce, and shrimp with black mushrooms, and rice. Plenty for two! Could have taken some home but decided to devour the lot :-)

(not bad for meat and seafood lovers as well-- i hear they love the salt-baked anything). This place will turn tofu-haters around. There is a complete vegetarian menu at the back. Get the veg version of the hot and sour soup (pineapple, tomato, cilantro and tofu floating in a citrusy spicy clear broth). The bean cake in claypots, the lemongrass tofu, the hunan green beans, all are incredible. And portions sizes are definitely enough for two. But whatever you do, if you are a vegetarian, don't miss the bean cake with black pepper. I drive far distances for this dish.

Easily the best Vietnamese/Asian food in town! This place does not disappoint. The shrimp toast and spring rolls are great appetizers. The imperial role is magnificent. They also have very good soups. #20, General's Chicken, is my favorite entree.

We ordered Take Out. I was quite surprised that the restaurant was packed; definitely deserves a sit down. Great food, super yummy. Somewhat expensive though.
