My husband and I along with 2 other people went on the 3 day, Wild Tu Lan Cave trip. It was a trip of a lifetime! Oxalis made experiencing an area of Vietnam that has barely been touched by tourism possible. Our guide, Phung, made the experience even more enjoyable by explaining the geology of the caves to ensure that we truly appreciated the beauty of them. I cannot recommend Oxalis Adventure tours enough. If you want to experience the beauty of this area, look no farther than Oxalis. The Oxalis team made booking our trip, transportation, and lodging a breeze. Every aspect of the trip was well organized. The scenery was beautiful, the staff was friendly and professional, and the food was amazing. Don't hesitate to book. The trip is worth every penny!

This is a challenging trip, but even if you are not really fit and/or older (my wife is 55 and I am 65), the guides are so encouraging and helpful. I would encourage you to do this if you are interested. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam.

We have to admit that we were a bit reluctant in the beginning whether to take the tour or not because the price is quite high compared to other tours.BUT we are so happy we did it because it worth every single penny. We did the 2 day Tu Lan cave encounter and we would not hesitate to take any of the tours. They were really professional from te beginning until the end,the trekking and the caving is amazing, the group is small, you will not see other tourists. The guides(Quan and Dai) really made the difference. They were vzry helpful and knowledgeable, not only about the trek and the caves, but they also shared loads of information on Vietnam culture. The previous day we took another tour with another company and you can't even compare it.This is totally a must do if you love nature and you visit Vietnam!

What can you say, the trip was excellent. We did the one day Tu Lan cave trip and it was awsome. The guide was great he spoke English and had a ton of knowledge about the local area and the caving adventure. The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. We arrived in Dong Hoi and had made arrangements to be picked up from our hotel and dropped off at the end of the day. Everything was well organized and professionally done. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

In one word: incredible- but in the true sense of the term. Even inside Son Doong, the scale of everything is unfathomable as you routinely mistake rock formations as being tens of feet away when they are in fact hundreds away.

We toured with a group of 10 friends (from the U.S, U.K and Japan) mid-march (beginning of the dry season) and got to experience the entire spectrum of weather conditions- hot / humid jungle, rain and lightning storms, fog, sun, you name it. Be warned you will be wet most of the time, but after the first couple river crossings you'll feel right at home.

The beauty of the cave is beyond compare. It makes for an extremely cooperative subject in photography and no matter SLR or smartphone it's very hard to take a bad picture. Bringing a tripod is a good idea if you want to capture 'painted' shots where the porters / crew will light up the various rock formations and pose you in ways so cool you look like a god / goddess.

The entire porter team is exceptionally friendly and the staff appear to be more family than a collection of co-workers at times. The food is phenomenal and (according to the consensus of our group) far better than the local fare in Phong Nha. While the food is mostly Vietnamese, the chefs also offer western favorites like French toast and crepes. Eat as much as you can while you have the chance!

Finally, one last word about the company- they are extraordinarily committed to the preservation of the cave and the well-being of the local community. Even outside of the trekking experience they are working tirelessly to ensure that the cave remains as it is, politically combatting richer investors who would see to adding paved roads, cable cars, and a gift shops to bring in the most buck. Needless to say, if you care at all about the majesty that is mother earth, your money will be well spent.

And big thanks to our guides, Howard and Watto, British caving experts, for their professionalism. (Howard and his wife were the 1st people to explore this cave!)

So why are still reading this? Book while you still can!! :-)
