This was a wonderful little hideaway. Very remote, located on 56 acres. The inn was incredible. Cynthia the hostess was marvelous. She has the place nicely decorated. We had the suite, nicely appointed with private bath which included a shower and a jacuzzi and a private entrance/exit. The suite overlooks the pond and is just about as perfect as it can be.
We opted for evening meals there, an additional $25 per person, but well worth it. The atomosphere very quaint and romantic. Dinner prepared by Chef Connie and served by candlelight. We brought our own wine!
Joe, Cynthia's husband offered his services to provide us a tour of the local area. Being it was Thanksgiving day we took him up on his offer. We toured Jackson, Clinton and St Francesville. Lot of Civil War history. We visited the Confederate Cemetary in Jackson and a civil war era cemetary in St Francesville. Very interesting to say the least.
My wife got to experience her very first ferry ride. We drove onto the ferry, ferried across the mighty Mississippi, drove off, turned around, drove back on and ferried back to the Bayou Sara side!!!! You'd have thought she was a kid on her first merry-go-round!!!!!
The only caution here is if you are a totally technologically connected type person be aware, no wifi, no TV. It was quite nice being void of the latter two.
This place is five star all the way. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.
