Unexpectedly and completely by chance, one of the best down to earth Cajun country charm restaurants I have ever been to. Excellent food, with a chef unafraid to speak to everyone and make you feel at home. Great diversified menu, not to over the top spicy. In other words flavorful and thoughtfully prepared food. Nice clean atmosphere with staff willing to please. Don't forget the white chocolate bread pudding, oh my gosh! What a great end to a great enjoyable meal.

Eric Weil, owner and chef since 1978, makes wickedly good crab and corn chowder and trout frangelico that bests Emerils. Where Emerils obscures the flavor of the meat with heat and kicking it up a notch and out of bounds, Chef Eric enhances the meat with spice and liqueurs. The white chocolate bread pudding is a subtle and satisfyingly not too sweet, not too rich but sweet and rich enough to top off a fantastic meal. An essential stop on any culinary (or foodie) tour for the taste buds! From Michigan, Bon Appetit! The McCools

If you are looking for good Louisiana cooking, Cafe Lafourche is the place to go. The food is wonderful. The Seafood Stuffed Potatoe is as big as the plate and one of my favorites. There are many choice on the menu and the staff great.

P.S. If you are going try to insult someone, learn how to spell first!
It is cheaper than those tourist traps in New Orleans that doesn't even sell real Louisiana cooking.
