Had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving here with my family and it was very enjoyable....not cheap..... but great !!
I chose this place following Trip Advisor recommendations. It is a pleasant drive from New Orleans (about an hour). They were very busy on this day....had a parking attendant directing traffic....after parking we were directed toward the Plantation Home where the Brunch was served. Walked through expansive and beautiful gardens full of flowers, fresh vegetables, ponds, garden art, fountains and hundreds year old trees. The salon where brunch was served was huge and had the southern plantation feel.....they had many meats (turkey, pork, duck, beef, fish) many Louisiana favorites, salads, soups, vegetables, sauces, wines, champagne, coffees, desserts) excellent friendly service and very interesting people watching :)
After we ate we walked the gardens again and then visited the shop !!! wow !!! great shopping from art from local artists to foods to mardi gras masks to liquors, jewelry, local books and so much more....I will certainly go back to shop, eat, and take the tour of the mansion which we didn't do this time. I agree with other reviewers....it is pricey......but how often do you experience a southern plantation !!!! reminds me of paying $14 for a coke in St Marks square in Venice....how much is the feast for your eyes worth ??? invaluable......
