What a lovely restaurant! Things to love...seven-course tasting menu (and an additional course when I expressed interest in an item not on the tasting menu), a personal visit from Chef Bryan Duck, and the best server (Debbie) in recent memory. Can't think of anything bad to say...except I can't dine there every night!

Latil's Landing Restaurant which is part of Houmas House Plantation House in Darrow, Louisiana will be one of your favorite restaurants and a must visit after your fiirst trip! Look for a meal for two with drinks to be $150+ and you will be very pleased that you went. Chef Jeremy Langois provides exceptional food and the service is marvelous. The building is a couple of hundred years old, quite rustic and an important part of the experience...but Latil's would be a home run regardless of the ambience of the facility. Include a tour of Houmas House and grounds and you can easily turn dinner into a wonderful 5 or 6 hour viisit.

My wife and our friends toured the Houmas House Plantation and decided to grab some lunch afterwards. We had no idea that we were about to enjoy THE BEST meal we'd had in a very long time. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was outstanding. We even photographed each of the plates before enjoying our meal. In addition, the service was extraordinary. Bottom line: Run, don't walk to this outstanding restaurant!

We booked our reservations for Valentine's Day about eight weeks in advance since we thought they could be busy. Was so excited to eat in a 1700's French home, but they took us up to the top which seemed to be a covered porch and the chairs were the ones they use for weddings and other functions. Food was very good and our waiter did a good job, however, he could have used some help as he was all alone serving eight other tables of two.

Had a terrific dining experience here with friends the other weekend. The grounds are spectacular and the Turtle bar is a cool place to grab a drink but the food was the real highlight. Not the kind of place you want to order a steak, too many other great unique dishes on the menu. I had the risotto with shrimp and crawfish with a lobster tail on top and my wife got the drum fish. As good as the food was so was the service. Our waitress couldn't have been more helpful and honest about her favorites or with helping us select a few wines. Definitely worth the trip out for a wonderful evening.
