Traveling from our home in New Mexico to Florida, we're not accustomed to rain OR Cajun food.
We pulled off the highway because it was raining so hard, and drove around Crowley to see where to have lunch. (There's a very charming downtown; don't miss it!)
Lots of fast food chains around, but luckily, we wandered in here for lunch. The parking lot was full, and the drive-through line extended out into the street; we figured if it was a favorite with he locals, it was the place to go.
My husband had the combination fish dish; it was all fried. He loved it. He said the stuffed shrimp was wonderful, stuffed with deviled crab. I had the cup of red beans and rice. It came with a link of boudin. It was fantastic! So spicy and rich, the sauce was great. Glad I didn't get the bowl--it would've been way too much to eat.
So, now I know what boudin is, and that this modest looking place is THE place to eat in Crowley!
