The Seaport is owned and managed by Moresby Explorers. You can leave your car in their back lot while you're on one of their trips and they will pick you up in the van. Simple, no frills rooms, but very comfortable. And a GREAT breakfast. Good beach right across the street and walk to three restaurants (maybe the only three on Sandspit?) or the grocery store. Good kitchen if you want to cook your own. We came straight here after getting off the ferry from Prince Rupert after a 3-day ferry/car journey from Seattle. It was GREAT to stay for two nights and a day to get oriented before ouar 4-day Moresby Adventure.

Room Tip: Upstairs is preferred for better light in the room.

I stayed in the Seaport B&B two years ago and it was fabulous! I was surprised I didn't see it listed, so thought I'd write a review now.
This place is practically brand new, with a beautiful view, friendly staff, great food, and a perfect launch spot for tours of Gwaii Haanas! There are places to eat nearby, and Moresby Explorers tours are two seconds away. Great place to stay!!

My GF and I had booked the 2 day Moresby Explorers trip and thought that it would be good to be on site for the morning pickup and for after our return.

The B&B is very new and well appointed with large, clean rooms. The breakfast is quite good and well prepared.

One of the perks of staying here before your trip is that you generally get to meet the folks returning from the previous trip out...they can fill you in on valuable tips i.e. warms hats, gloves and sunglasses being ESSENTIAL, if you are planning on being comfortable at all.

I was personally a bit dismayed ti find that there was no Wi-fi (although you could get internet over at the Moresby Explorers office just down the road). There's no TV but I didn't hear anybody complaining about that.

The folks at the Seaport (and Moresby Explorers) are younger, enthusiastic and very nice.

All in all, it was a good idea going the way we did; after we returned, there were other travelers from our trip that still had a long way to travel (and a ferry to catch) before they could rest for the night.

For other meals, you might like to try the Orange Roof Restaurant next to the B&B. The owner, Monty, is one wild and crazy dude and the food is surprisingly good for what is basically pub-grub.

All the best,
Phil

We stayed here for a total of 3 nights - 1 before the Moresby Explorers tour and 2 after. Rooms are available with or without private baths at different rates. There is also a studio.

When the weather is good you can see the beautiful sunset from the front of the B&B. It's clean, staff are friendly. There's no TV in the common area. We could walk next door to the Moresby Explorers office to use the WiFi. Breakfasts are okay. No lock on room doors but probably no need for it in Sandspit.
