“Small Intimate Cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

If you want to feel warm and cozy, enjoy zydeco music and cajun food, then Cafe' Des Amis is the place to visit. Located just off Interstate 10 near Lafayette, LA, this little cafe gives a big punch when it comes to great cajun food. Bignets for starters, Catfish covered with crawfish etoufee and zydeco music all while eating brunch on Saturday and Sundays! What more could you ask for?

“A LOT OF CULTURE FOR BREAKFAST”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

What better way to experience Cajun/Creole culture then with a wonderful breakfast and dancing. This was my first trip to Cafe Des Amis even though I am a lifelong resident of Cajun country. I always stay away because of the huge crowd. We were celebrating a friends birthday and we arrived early. We were promptly seated and the experience we had was unsurpassed. The early morning Bloody Mary was delicious. We ate beignets and danced to Zydeco. It really doesn't get much better than this. The service was great and these waiters never seem stressed even when everyone is trying to get their attention. They obviously love their job. That is refreshing to see these days.

“Saturday Morning Zydeco”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

"Pass a Good Time" on a Saturday morning in this Old Time Bar/Restaurant. Live Music, dancing, and a hot breakfast seals the deal. End the morning by shopping in this beautiful, & friendly town.

Excellent food, excellent service...unique in everyway!! The food very fresh, and prepared to individual taste. The atmosphere is unique....we just missed the Zydeco band that performed earlier that morning. Sunday brunch all day long....WOW! Yes, we shall return!!!

“Wonderful food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

We had a wonderful lunch at Cafe des Amis. The shrimp and okra gumbo was out of this world. It came with a small scoop of rice and a small scoop of great potato salad. The fried eggplant over crawfish etouffe was fabulous. The eggplant was perfectly cooked and melted like custard in your mouth. My friend enjoyed his cornbread and crawfish etouffe just as much. The only thing that would have made it better was our timing. We arrived too late for their Saturday breakfast with live Cajun music. Sorry we missed it.
