Isabelle Inn Bed & Breakfast

absolutely wonderful home and hosts. allie and susan were charming and helpful. the house is beautiful throughout as are the grounds. there is a pool (which we didnt use as it was too cold which would be very inviting in warmer weather. very good wireless internet connection. breakfast and snacks which were offered in the late afternoon were delightful. there is an upstairs room for coffee in the morning which also has a full size fridge for drinks. outside verandas on second floor were delightful to sit on and relax after a long day, we stayed in the Richard room which was very nice. it faces the front of the house and has a separate door out to the front veranda. the excellent breakfast is served at a long table in the dining room and all the other guests were interesting and fun. i cant say enough and thank you so much to Susan and allie for making a great trip perfect.

Room Tip: we had richard room which was very nice. it faces front of house and has a separate door out to upst...

The Isabelle Inn is a lovely and beautifully decorated home, both the spacious common areas downstairs as well as the 2nd floor guestrooms! One of the home's most impressive features to me was the interior brick walls and beautiful hardwood floors throughout. We chose the Douglas room because of its quieter location away from the road. Though the inn is on the outskirts of the small town of Breaux Bridge, and is situated on a large property, it does sit at the intersection of two fairly busy roads, so if you're sensitive to traffic noise, you may want to take that into account in your choice of rooms. The Douglas Room had a HUGE walk-in closet that was such a surprise and made it much easier to keep the room from becoming cluttered with clothes while staying there three nights! Do be advised there are no individual door keys. You can lock your room from the inside however, and you do have a key to your closet where you can lock any valuables. There was a nice upper porch to sit on as well as a morning coffee room if you want somewhere other than your room to sit and have coffee or read. Susan, the owner, greeted us so warmly and we were made to feel so at home! Allie was readily available each time I called, once to extend the length of our stay and once for a restaurant recommendation. And the breakfasts and evening wine, snacks, and dessert, provided in the common area were EXCEPTIONAL! This inn truly feels like a home away from home. A great central place from which to explore the small towns (St. Martinville, Abbeville, New Iberia) that are the heart of Cajun country, hear some great cajun music, enjoy cajun cuisine (especially crawfish, of course!), and to take a swamp tour with a guide raised locally who knows the waters of Lake Martin like the back of his hand. He can bring you as close as you'll ever get to an alligator sunning on a log! A must if you're there on the weekend......the Saturday zydeco brunch at Cafe Des Amis..... zydeco and dancing while eating brunch!

The accommodations at the Isabelle Inn could not have been better, and everyone was so helpful and gracious. Breakfast was delicious as were the afternoon snacks. The house is decorated so very tastefully. We highly recommend this B&B.

Every thing was exceptional a bit noisy due to close to the road but well worth the stop Susan the owner is charming and so is the southern hospitality. The breakfast is exceptional. We did the tour of Lake Martin, Avery Island.

We had only read positive reviews regarding the Isabelle B&B and we surely were not disappointed. A fabulous mansion with 5 bedrooms on the 2nd of 3 floors were spacious and comfortable.

We had the Phillip room which was huge with a large ensuite and walk-in closet. The bed requires a footstool to get into unless you are good at springing off the floor.

The house surrounded by a bayou and large property were both central to town yet amazingly private. 2 porches, 2 sitting areas, dining room, coffee room with access to gourmet coffee and treats were yours to enjoy. We particularily enjoyed the salt water hot-tub and in the summer there is also a salt-water swimming pool for your use.

Allie, Susan and family (particularly 3 year old Elise) were southern welcoming and very delightful. You felt as though their home was your home - it was not just a business. Little things like the offer to use the washing maching and computer made this B&B a home. I am always a fan of free wi-fi and satellite television and those were included as well.

The breakfast each day was delicious. The first morning we had chocolate heart-shaped pancakes and the second crawfish with egg scramble. If you aren't an adventurous diner, no problem you will be offered something to your liking. Either way you will enjoy the pre-breakfast parfait with fruit and cream - a different one each day.

Lots to see in Breaux Bridge including antique stores, cajun music and dinner at the Cafe des Amis (fabulous food and a great atmospher with guest musicians). Cafe des Amis is known for Saturday morning breakfast with Zydeco music. You will have to line-up to get into breakfast so go early. We had already had breakfast at the Isabelle so we went just hang-out outside and listen to the music. Whatever you are in for while at the Isabelle - you will be provided recommendations and reservations.

Highly recommend - one of our favourite B&Bs ever.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice - if it is size you want, go for the Phillip. If it is easy access to the front...

We live in Schriever, LA (1.5 hr drive) and needed a refresher. My daughter booked this for us and we couldn't be more pleased. It was our 40th Anniversary & we have been taking care of ill parents. It was far enough to fee like we got away, but close enough to feel like we were not out of reach. Everyone at the Inn is very accommodating and thoughtful - even the children. We enjoyed the "antiquing" and all the wonderful food served at the nearby restaurants. The grounds are just beautiful and I really couldn't think of a better way to spend the weekend. The Inn is very clean and well taken care of. Service and breakfast were outstanding. Just more than we could have ever expected. Thank you for everything. It was just what we needed. We will be back and I have already recommended the Inn to my other two daughters & my son. It is something they need to "treat" themselves with. See you on our next "stay-cation".

Room Tip: Each room has it's own inviting features. You will not be disappointed in any room you choose.

It was a wonderful treat to stay at the Isabelle Bed and Breakfast and we look so forward to going back. The home is so lovely and Allison (our hostess) was so gracious. Our room was spacious and opened to an upstairs balcony-just beautiful. Our entire stay was filled with unexpected and delightful treats. We ended our stay with an elegant, delicious breakfast served in the dining room. Our thanks to our hostess for making our trip to Breaux Bridge a beautiful memory.
