...This seems to be a relatively new property on Old Minden Road. I was extremely pleased with my stay here when I traveled on business for a week. One funny thing about this hotel is they don't really have a clearly marked sign for the entrance. When you stand at the entrance, you will see the entrance to the Homewood Suites clearly marked on the left, but there's no sign for the Hilton Garden Inn, which is to the right. I'm hoping that the management is in the process of putting up one.
The ambiance and decor in the lobby is just fabulous. I was really impressed with the courteous service of the front desk folks, who greeted visitors pleasantly and made eye contact when spoken to. They were very knowledgable about the local area and had some good suggestions for restaurants. I had requested a corner room on a high floor and they ensured that I got what I had asked for. I was very pleased with that.
During my stay there were a few kids who were up at weird hours of the night in the pool and making a lot of noise. One call to the front desk and they had security whisk them out of the pool.
The room itself is very well laid out and the desk chair was one of the most comfortable one's i've sat in at any hotel. The bathroom itself is well designed, but the shower area can be too small for someone that's well built and over 6' tall. The refrigerator in my room was making some funny sounds, but changing the setting from coldest to a littler warmer got the noise to cease. The wifi service is complimentary as is parking and the Internet connection speed was decent.
During my stay I lost my room key and the lovely lady at the front desk was very friendly and gave me a replacement within seconds.
One plus about this property is that it's got very easy access to the Interstate. One downside to this property, especially if you're a light sleeper, is you can hear the trains when they blow their whistle, not otherwise.
The hotel has a decent restaurant onsite and they offer scrumptious breakfast. I only had breakfast and can vouch only for that. I do have to admit that the items are a little pricey and can add up especially if you are there with family.
In summary I have to say that it was a very pleasant stay at this hotel and most certainly I will stay here again if i'm in the area.
