“Slots were tight and too many old games.”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Did not do well at any of the machines, and didn't see anyone else win either. Choice of machines was limited to older games, not many new ones. The decor was nice and the place felt secure. Dining choices very limited, an over priced buffet and a very busy burger place, probably because of the pricey buffet.

“Quarter Horse racing”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

Very clean racetrack. This is the off season but they were running quarter horses. Wow, I had never seen these types of races. Short and fast...220 yards.

There was a very thin crowd and only a few ticket booths open but we were betting with the electronic machines, no problem.
Cold affordable beers and a so so BBQ pork sandwich.

The casino attached is not as big as some of the others downtown, but seemed nice.

It is a little odd how you get to the racetrack from downtown. Off I-20 and then a drive down an odd 2 lane road. Maybe for traffic control?? Did not have a problem finding with GPS,

Would love to return when the regular racing season opens. Husband and I enjoyed the unique QH racing. Would recommend for racing lovers.

“Only casino in the area that caters to truck drivers.”
Reviewed January 10, 2014 via mobile

Large parking lot for tractor trailer drivers. Several hotels onsite with discounts for drivers. Above average odds on slots. Only complaint is they have only one Wheel of Fortune dollar slot. How bout upgrading to 3 more dollar slots and throw 4 or 5 $ 5 wheel of fortune slots in the high limit area. Initially won a total of $400 on the WOF. Got a $150 spin and a $250 spin. Played $260 then put it all back on 1/8/14. Next a.m. before checking out of hotel I had another go of it this time on a one coin in $25 slot and won $1,175 off of $100. Not bad. Play the high limit slots is my advice but dont play more than you can afford. Take $500 in and try to wear them out.

“We started 2014 here!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014 via mobile

This review is for the New Years Eve party thrown by Louisiana Downs. It was free, great band, drinks for purchase, a clock for countdown and a great fireworks display afterwards! It was busy and full but there was still room to move around. They passed out free hats and party blowers for the guests to ring in the new year, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will do it again!

“Nice casino and race track”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

I only spent about an hour in this location. It has a smaller casino area compared to others in the area but it also gives you the ability to gamble on horses. Slot machines only, no table games and no poker room. Clean establishment with friendly employees and self service soft drink stations.
