We have come to the Horseshoe for many years, but it has been several since we had been. When I went to the Shoe this time, it was even friendlier than before. The front desk staff were awesome, friendly and humorous and very helpful, as always. The restaurants had undergone some changes as well and we were very pleased with them. The casinos were pretty much the same, but with fewer interactive cashiers and more and better cash dispensing machines. We were there on a Sunday and Monday and found the slots to be fairly loose compared to later in the week. Drinks and service were good and plentiful. Rooms are smaller than they used to be, but very nice if more Spartan in appearance than before. Gone are the large bathrooms with the separate shower area, unless those are now in the Premium Suites. Ours was a King Suite and we used to always get a King Suite, but these were probably about 3/4 to 1/2 the size of the old rooms. Still, a very good deal during their promo period. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: They are all good. Pick a view you'd like.

After a long drive for a post-Christmas couples get away, we were pleasantly surprised by this property. Check-in was quick and easy. Front desk staff was friendly & efficient. We were asked if we wanted a low or high room, but having not stayed there before we had no preference and ended up on the 7th floor in a non-smoking king. Room was clean, nicely decorated, & spacious. Bathroom was huge! My only complaint about the room is that we were directly above the Riverdome, which unknown to us, is their venue for special musical performances. When gambling, we take a mid-afternoon break from the smoke & noise in our room. Little did we know that this is the time that sound check is performed in the Riverdome and that we would hear it all from the 7th floor. I thought this would only happen on Friday as the O'Jays were performing that evening; however on Saturday there was a private event in the Riverdome & we suffered through that sound check also. Will request either a higher floor or the other end of the building next time. Also disappointed by having to pay $11.95 wi-fi fee per day and charge was per device, not per room.

As to the casino, service was good, frequent, and friendly, but the size of the casino was disappointing and the slots were TIGHT! Had a machine that was paying well, but it suffered a reel tilt twice during my time playing it. Quick attendant service, but frustrating. Finally gave up & left casino. As with most casinos with tight slots, the comps were good. All meals were covered, including a delicious dinner at Four Winds. Buffet was passable, but wish we had tried the Steakhouse also.

Room Tip: Ask to be on the north side away from Riverdome.

I Love this hotel! Great rooms, always clean and roomy. All of the employees are amazing! A must try for everyone who loves to gamble and stay in a clean and pretty hotel/casino. The food is very good too, nice size portions.

We were at Horseshoe from 12/15-18. We met some family there to party before Christmas. The employees at both the hotel and casino are the friendliest you will find in that area. We had an older room on the 8th floor next to the ice machine. It was a little larger being next it, with a table and 4 chairs, and the couch. It also had a Jacuzzi tub which we enjoyed. The room was clean, but no tv in the mirror. We ate twice at Binion's Steak House. Four Winds was closed until Christmas. Horseshoe claims to have 300 new slot machines, but I don't think they were all in yet. Glad to see the new slots to play - they have to keep up with Margaritaville down the street. They were in the process of putting an electronic roulette game right where you walk in on the 2nd floor. It would be nice if Horseshoe would put in some self serve drink dispensers, like the some of the other area casinos have. Most times you have to wait a while to get a Pepsi or even a bottle of water. A couple of us won and the other 5 lost a little. But we all get to stay and eat free, and that is worth something. Didn't see a big winner on the slots while there. We all had an enjoyable time at Horseshoe, though. We'll be back!

It’s nice that the Horseshoe is renovating their property and makes it nicer visiting there; the rooms needed it badly. The only bad comment I have about the premium rooms are they went minimal which seems to down play what they are supposed to be. They removed the TV in the bathroom and the TV in the sitting area where a nice sectional use to be and replaced it with a sofa and uncomfortable sitting chair. You have the 1 TV by the bed that swings out, but watching it from the sofa and sitting chair is very difficult and is not large enough for the large room. The eating table is a nice add in for when you order room service, but it also replaces the desk they use to have in the room. They have a section in the bathroom cut out like a vanity, but there is no chair, so you have to carry a chair from the table. I am glad they kept the Jacuzzi in the premium rooms, which is nice. However, I like booking the regular rooms over the premium rooms because they over look the Red River, downtown Shreveport and the other Casinos across the river. The premium rooms have a boring view of the city and not much to look at. The new pillow top bed was very comfortable and everything nice and new. They have also replaced the carpet in the Casino, but haven’t really added very many new slots and they are still extremely tight where you get no play for your money. If you gamble here, stick to the table games or poker where you have a chance to actually win something.

Room Tip: Book a Luxury Room instead a Premium Room if you want a nice view of the River; if you want the jacu...

The Horseshoe is a beautiful clean casino/hotel with an exceptionally friendly staff. We had the valet park us, they were quick and efficient during a busy Friday afternoon. The lobby upon entering is simply beautiful. The rooms were clean, very large and no smells. They were a suite and ample room for two people. There is one negative, the 3rd floor entryway to the elevators smelled like mildew and a bit in hallways, but one can overlook that as long as the rooms smelled fresh and they did.

I am more for the theater shows and food and this place does deliver that with choices to eat in different restaurants. The buffet was very good with excellent choices of food. The breakfast in the open cafe in the lobby was very good. Bloody Mary's tasty also in this area. The staff throughout the hotel was just awesome and cannot say enough about them. They are very accommodating to our every need throughout our stay. This is a great place to stay, you will not be dissapointed.

New facelift in rooms that are luxurious and welcoming. Safes have been added which is a necessity when one goes to gamble. My safe had a hiccup, but was repaired the next day.
Beds are very comfy with lovely lamps, sofa and chair. Desk is large. Only thing missing is outlets to plug in phones and computer. But there are plugs next to the bed that took the place of plugs on the desk.
