“A True Community Pub”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

Thank you
In January I was one of the congregation in the church celebrating the life of John Cassidy. There were not many of us villagers who had known him, and the gathering was mainly family and friends, having travelled in difficult conditions from far and wide.
After an inspiring service we were directed to refreshments in the village hall, but with an unfortunate bit of mis-timing the caterers had not arrived. There we all were – cold, tired and in dire need of sustenance. Feeling ourselves somewhat in a hostess
capacity to the travellers, three of us just exchanged looks, and with one accord ran, thinking on our feet, down to The Crown.
There our dilemma was laid before the management. The response was immediate, no fuss, no quibbling, just 'Leave It To Us'.
Within ten minutes tea and coffee was there, and in less than half an hour, by the time the rest of the flock in the village hall had been rounded up and shepherded down to The Crown, hot soup, rolls and various nibbles were ready, immaculately served, no
hint of rush or panic, and very welcome indeed. The locals already in situ made room for the invasion, and no one would have known that the whole exercise had not been planned weeks ago.
Despite not being much of a pub-goer myself I do see and hear about the goings-on at The Crown, and for me this was first-hand experience of the service Ian and Lisa give to the village. Just doing their job, maybe, but certainly in 'good measure, pressed down and running over.” Rising to the occasion as they did for us was in the age-old tradition of the village inn whose obligation
was not only to serve the needs of the locals, but most importantly to offer hospitality to passing travellers, whoever they
might be. The Crown is truly a focal point in our village, and this is entirely down to the enormous contribution Ian and Lisa make to our community life.
So, here's to Ian and Lisa, and The Crown. Thank you so much, and long may you reign!

“Good family pub with excellent value meals”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

The menu choices were perhaps a little more limited that I'd like but the food was excellent. Everyone on the table (8 of us) was impressed with the food. Service was quick despite them being short staffed that day and the value for money was virtually second to none. Great place to go and we'll definitely go back.

Not spectacular or distinctive, just good well cooked and presented standards in pleasant environment with well kept beers. Friendly and usually busy with a good crowd.

“Excellent Friendly Pub with great food”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

We looked on tripadvisor for places to eat in the Bucks area and read about The Crown, the reviews were positive so we went for it. We did not regret our decision. A warm welcome on our arrival, very pleasant environment and atmosphere. We both had steaks for our meal, they were cooked to perfection. Desserts lovely. Spoke to the landlord & his partner, very friendly & chatty. Our only regret was that we could not visit The Crown more often as we were not in the area for long enough, next time we are in the area this will become a regular place to eat.

“Excellent Village Pub”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

I have visited The Crown many times over the last year and found it to be consistantly good.
The varied menu is fantastic for a simple lunch or a large evening meal. The service is excellent.
The Wednesday and Sunday Carvery Dinners are the best around.
