“Great Comfort”
Reviewed April 21, 2008

From the time we stepped into the doors, the staff was extremely helpful. My husband and I travel a lot and always look for comfort, cleanliness, and safety when booking a hotel. The king bed in our room was very comfortable. I love a good pillow and I believe we had 5 or 6 on the bed with two additional in the closet. Rooms were clean and our safety was never a question. The rooms were so comfortable; I wish we could have stayed longer. Hotel website photos are exact. Complimentary breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, bagels, english muffins, toast, cereal, coffee an assortment of teas and juices. If you like you can order a hot breakfast at additional charge. Wi-Fi worked without any problems. Hotel is located across the street from The Mall of Louisiana and Copeland's CheeseCake Bistro. Also located next door is Ralph and Kacoos. Didn't get a chance to enjoy pool or fitness center. I would stay here again on my next visit to Baton Rouge.

This newly refurbished Hyatt Place is incredible! We visit relatives in Baton Rouge often and have yet to find a hotel that isn't akin to a motel. But we found Hyatt Place and it was great!

The rooms are large and spacious with a wide screen plasma TV that swivels towards the bedroom area or towards the living area. The bedroom was nicely done and the bed was luxurious with plenty of pillows and stood taller than most hotel beds.

The bathroom was small but nice enough and the dressing area was done in granite countertops with modern fixtures. The living area had a sectional sofa with an ottoman. There was another area of the room where a small table with 2 chairs was housed. Across from the table was a wetbar area that had a small refrigerator and sink with a mug-by-mug coffee maker sitting on top. And by the way, the mugs were modern and large.

The ambiance of the entire room was wonderful. It was very modern yet warm and cozy at the same time. There was a pseudo Shoshi screen that separated the bedroom from the living area.

A better-than-average continental breakfast was offered in the spacious and inviting reception area. There were the typical breads and pastries, hot and cold cereals, juices and milks, but they also offered, (for an additional cost), eggs, omelets and other hotly prepared breakfast items. They have carafes of Starbucks coffee waiting to be poured into your large mugs. All of the utensils were stainless and the dishware was pottery.

They also offer an afternoon/late evening bar for a minimal price. You can get wines, beer and appetizers.

The price was $120/night and worth EVERY penny! A definite must when staying in Baton Rouge. OH! The fairly new Mall of Louisiana is right across the street.

We were not impressed with the incomplete remodel. In addition the property was not complete yet the rates did not reflect this. IE workout room, tv system not working/waking us up in the middle of the night, no AAA breakfast as promoted in our reservation etc...
We complained but nothing was done to rectify these issues. We specifically spoke with a corporate guy from Texas and he said he would address it with the GM.
After no communication with us regarding this, we checked out.
Disappointed with the promotion of a half finished half done hotel.
If you are going to do a remodel, don't stop in the bathroom. We aren't stupid.
Sincerely
