“Best Food in Baton Rouge, nuff said!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

Best muffaletta joint in town and perhaps the state. As a native New Orleanian I know a good muffaletta. This place does it right!! Marco the owner/front man, is the second reason to go to Anthony's, his awesome attitude and service is on par with a fine dining establishment. They also have large frozen premise lasagna in pans to take home. Can't say enough good about this place. If you haven't been, stop reading this screen, get some money, and run yourself over to Anthony's!

“Best Sandwich ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014 via mobile

Hard to find but once your there. It is absolutely an awesome place to eat. Heard them taking orders for a large group downtown Baton Rouge.

You have to try the muffoletta.

I know why it is rated number 1 in Baton Rouge.

Amazing. Friendly. A must go if in Baton Rouge. It's worth a drive from anywhere. Several varieties of meats cheeses and Italian cookies. The owner a nice little Italian lady and her son Do great job.

“What a pair!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014 via mobile

Of sandwiches. Had the Italian special and the meatball to split and while dinner was just a couple of hours away discussion was had over saving the second half--even the small sandwich size is plentiful. Both of the sandwiches were too hard to deny, I'm a meatball sub snob and this was as good as any I've ever had--not too much sauce, not too salty, and the owners are the kind that encourage repeat visits. The only knock is it's a small place in an old shopping strip, and for a sandwich/bake at home deli shop that's fine by me.

“I love finding places like this”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

I love trip advisor. Anthony's is off the beaten path, a true local institution and not someplace you would ever find if you weren't looking for it. The food was fab but the atmosphere is even better. I loved listening to the staff answering questions about the menu. Authentic Italian accents highlighted the authentic sandwiches. I asked what a Muffaletta was. A shocked look follows with them asking where I was from. Apparently a dead give away that I was from out of state. From then on, I was family. The menu is small as is the eating area itself. Very few tables, which adds to the charm. A constant stream of "to go" orders keep the deli hopping. A great idea if you are in a hurry but want to grab a great sandwich while in Baton Rouge.
