The food at Rama is always fresh and delicious. The service is slow, yet attentive. The portions are huge, and you can order a couple of things to split amongst the table. The best thing about Rama is that you can order anything at variable levels of spiciness.

Upon first entering, you might feel like you walked in the back door. There isn't a hostess, but one of the waitresses will come seat you. Since my first visit earlier this year, I eat at this restaurant about 2-3 times a month. There are usually only two waitresses. The speed of service can be a little slow during busy nights. The food is delicious! Most authentic Thai food I have tasted in the Baton Rouge area.

My husband has eaten real Thai food in Thailand. This is his favorite authentic Thai restaurant in our entire state. We were introduced to all 4 chefs recently, and all are authentic ladies from Thailand..and most were age 60 and up. This is not a restaurant for those who seek extremely spicy cuisine....however, you order the food cooked to your level of hotness. Not all Thai cuisine is extremely spicy, but some is. Readers need to educate themselves FIRST before giving such biased reviews.
Sorry, but " Date from Hell" review is very misleading. Go to " urban spoon", or
read some of the many critic reviews that line the entrance of Rama for real reviews written by gastronomes and food critics. Then, experience the cuisine yourself.
There are other choices for Thai food right down the road on Perkins..but I know, for a fact, that the food cooked at Rama is fresh, cook correctly, and it's always delicious ! We have never been disappointed in anything from Rama.
The ladies at Rama work very hard..are on their feet and get the food to you as soon as it is cooked.
Feel free to contact me. I'm not a professional food critic, but, have eaten " bad" Thai food before...but this food is heavenly.

My family loves the Rama Restaurant. We have gone there for years and the quality and taste is always consistent. True Thai cuisine. And the atmosphere is as though the restaurant were picked up from Southeast Asia and dropped into Baton Rouge...not fancy...but authentic.

This small, sketchy looking place has the BEST Thai food in Baton Rouge at an excellent price! Expect to spend $5-15 on appetizers or $7-20 on the main dish, but most main dishes are in the $8-12 range. They have numerous delicious dishes that make it hard to choose-my favorites are the Mee Krob and the Panang Chicken. The only downside is slower service-but the food is certainly worth the wait.
