Fantastic restaurant with excellent food & hospitality! Great selection of food on the menu with a flavor for southern cooking. I had a fish selection with pecans encrusted on the top....hmmmmmm! The wait staff were attentive and friendly whether taking drink orders, food orders, bringing food to the table or refilling the water glass.

This is apparently a locals seafood favorite, I think more because it's been there for a while. I guess it's a good place for large groups or families but I didn't find the food much better than standard. My impression was it's living off it's history more than it's good food. Decent food but nothing to go out of your way for.

This is a must do when in the Capital City. The Perkins Road Overpass District is busting out all over but this restaurant was here in the beginning. Try the Delacroix, Catfish Perdu, Pontchartrain, Maurepas, or Vermillion. You will not be disappointed. Get the Tabasco pepper jelly dressing. Wash it all down with a Canebrake beer made in Broussard, LA. Galatoire's is down the street but for the price, Parrain's is better. This is a great place to take visitors. Easy on and off I-10 but you would never know it because the PROD is so lush and green. Locals can ride their bike and work off their meals.

A friend from LA told us to eat here on our way thru, glad we did! Everything was excellent - we had the fried alligator, fried crab fingers, turtle soup, fried crawfish tails & catfish - all very tasty! If we're ever this way again it'll be a must eat.

We stopped in at Parrain's on the way to Georgia for a late lunch. We were so impressed that we made an early morning departure from Georgia on our way home in order to spend the night in Baton Rouge and eat here again. We weren't disappointed.

This is simply great Cajun seafood done properly. There were 8 in our party, ordering a variety of dishes and all were happy.

If you show up at a popular time, try the bar/patio area. There are no reservations there and our possible 90 minute wait turned into 15 minutes by eating on the patio.
