We tried the Cove because we like to go to new places. The day we visited, the air-conditioner did not reach the dining area. The Korean beef was very dry, and flavorless for our taste, but the breaded pork was well prepared. They did substitute vegetables, for the rice and macaroni sides, and the server was very pleasant about it. The food came almost immediately to our table. Food was served on a paper plate. There is little decor, and windows are covered in black paper.

On my way to get a quick bite, I saw a sign for a Hawaiian Burger and decided to check it out.
WOW - what a great little place with a fantastic menu. The beef tastes like a Korean beef I had once while in Atlanta and the shrimp, rice and salad were wonderful. I am definitely going back. Great menu, great service and reasonable prices. It's so refreshing to go to a family owned restaurant and the owner comes out to greet you and thanks you for your business!

While they don't serve all kinds of Hawaiian fare, The Cove offers a good taste of Island cuisine. This Korean family operation is a welcome change from swamp food and tempts your taste buds with some intertesting spices and marinades. The menu items obviously lean toward Korean, including some hotstuff in a squeeze bottle. Careful! Also, be sure to ask if the wife of the owner brought some kim-chee (pickled Korean cabbage). It is home-made & very good. The bowl selections are various meats over imported sushi rice, meaning, it is slightly sticky, unlike the long grain rice we usually find in LA eateries. Other meats are grilled in strips or patties with interesting flavours on good bread. The really interesting item on The Cove's menu is Spam musubi, or Spam sushi. This is a typical Hawaiian treat, combing a grilled slice of Spam, a rectangle of sticky rice and nori seaweed wrapped around the whole affair. Hawaii, after all, consumes more Spam than any other state. The plates consist of grilled meats, combined with a scoop of rice and a portion of macaroni salad. Other salads & scrumptous desserts are also available, as well as tea, yoghurt and soft drinks. This is an ono ono (delicious) experience.
