Motel 6 Baton Rouge Southeast

Bad rooms, thin walls, iffy clientelle, worse staff, out of date long distance calling cards for sale that is the only way to call out of city. So, no long distance - at all from this motel. The wireless connection was poor to non existant.

we needed a place to stay in the neighborhood.
i called about 10 hotels to find a fridge/micro in room, but they were too expensive. finally decided to do motel 6 tho no fridge/micro.
walter was there about midnight, and he was the most polite and helpful of all the other motels i called.
many vacant rooms.
price reasonable for two beds.
room and bathroom and everything clean. everything worked. sorta weird to have wood floors in a motel room, but it was fine.
funky bedcovers of motel 6 motif.
in morning, trinette was very helpful at the front office. ALL staff were great!
i asked for a phone book to borrow, and irish brought us a new one right to our room! a male worker paid the extra coins needed to get soda pop from office area. super staff!
parking lot clean.
next door to a waffle house and bbq restaurant, gas station with little store, a target.
across the street office depot, cici's pizza, subway, big race track gas/store, etc.
my man is in charge of remodeling the cici's, so check it out after february 2009 - should be done by then!
i have no complaints about the room or help here, but wish it had micro/fridge in room.
right off I-10 at exit 163.

You definitly get what you pay for. I just thought I would give it a try since I would only be there for 5 hours, a place to nap take a quick shower and get up to attend an early morning meeting. The hotel looks spooky and to say when I opened the door my goodness the bed was just about to the floor. Then the most disgusting part was gong into the bathroom and finding dried up urine on the toilet seat. So of course I called the front desk they apologized, but really seemed to care less. At that point I was too scared to even shower. I'm so glad I travel with lysol. I wanted to get another room, but it was storming at the time and already 1a.m. in the morning. So I sprayed lysol like crazy and tried to make the best of the worst. I will never stay they again.

We were given the key to our room and the room had not been made up. Yuk! We took the key back and were given a different room. TV remote did not work. There was a second remote in the room which told me that the last guests also had trouble with the remote and it should have been taken care of.

Guests below us were grilling outside their room and had finished off about 1 1/2 cases of beer by morning. Tacky.

The desk clerk told me that the hotel had had 3 managers in the past year. Also she said that the hotel was going to close soon for complete renovations. Thank goodness ! Talk about sleazy !!

I have been a fan of the Motel 6 chain for a few years. For the most part, they have been simple, clean and safe. This Motel 6 is NOT the case.

The rooms are smelly, run-down, dirty and uncomfortable.

Showering was most unpleasant because of the smoke-smelling towels (in a non-smoking room) and the cockroach running around the bathroom floor!

The only benefits of this motel are the rates (at $50 a night) and the Waffle House in the parking lot.

My advice: spend an extra $25 bucks and stay somewhere else.

We stayed here on our way from New Orleans to Jackson, MS. The rooms have been "the Motel 6 style", towels and soap were missing, but we asked at the reception and got it. Not the best area, just stop, sleep, leave ...
