Really super local place with seriously yummy food. Upscale but casual. Went for lunch. Busy but great service anyway. The dessert was fabulous.

We chose Beausoleil for a birthday celebration and were delighted in every way. We elected to have a series of small plates. Each one was mouth watering. The chef is really terrific! The waitress was attentive and helpful in her descriptions of everything. We went early on a Saturday evening, and it was not crowded yet. There were some families with children there, but mostly couples laughing and chatting. By the time we left, however, there was a line waiting for tables. They do take reservations. The Sazerac that I ordered was wonderful. My husband's Bloody Mary was infused with bacon. Don't pass up the bread pudding. It was served warm and was
light, rich, and buttery. We can't wait to go again.

From the outside, this place looks tiny but inside you are amazed at the seating arrangement. One of the best brunch menus in Baton Rouge. Great live music, wonderful menu with lots of choices from salads, unique sandwiches, brunch delicacies and fantastic desserts. The entree portions are a little small for Baton Rouge so take advantage of one of the unique appetizer items and don't miss the pork rinds on the table before your meal arrives.

Wonderful Sunday brunch: my wife had a delicious house omelet with shrimp and goat cheese and I enjoyed a drum beurre blanc with okra, cooked to perfection. Desserts are great: try the chocolate pot de crème or the home made sorbet (my wife added homemade limoncello to her pear sorbet): fabulous. I am a French gourmet, from Lyon, and we have been seven years in Baton Rouge. Beausoleil is a gem, one of the very best places in town. Everything is perfect: nice bistro atmosphere, service is friendly and helpful, and in addition we were treated with live music. How come we did not discover this place earlier?
