Shorts and polo shirt comfortable with upscale food and service. Shared a big Porterhouse which was incredible. Daughter had BBQ shrimp that was great as well. Tamales as appetizers were perfect unique starters. Service was attentive and not overwhelming. Nice and affordable wine list. Pricing overall is fair, not cheap but less than upscale steak house. Bartender is very creative. Just give him a hint of what you're craving and he'll concoct something. Bread Pudding desert was underwhelming.

Hands down the best steaks you can get. I've had the beef tender and the ribeye several times and it's ALWAYS awesome good. I eat out a lot from New Orleans to Houston to Las Vegas and I've never had a steak so good and every time. Crazy to say but the french fries are soo good too! From start to finish, salad to steak, it's all good. I usually start with a couple tamales, salad, steak, then finish up with the biscuits and honey. Dang, I might have to make a trip out there this weekend just thinking about it to write this review. Well worth the drive from Lafayette to Baton Rouge!

Have you ever been dying for a primes steak but don't want to get all fancied up to eat? Doe's Eat Place is home to the best steak in Baton Rouge. I cannot say enough about the quality of the meat and preparation. Not to mention, the mushrooms are to die for! One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge period.

Hint: The menu is priced by the pound, so make sure you calculate correctly. I recommend two people ordering a porterhouse and splitting it. They will split most of the steaks and even cook at separate temperatures.

Red and white checkered plastic table clots, mounted animals, fabulous mixologist (George), good wine selection and the BEST tasting, aged to perfection steaks. Come here if you are hungry. Great family or coupes place. You can watch the game in the bar area.

We recently moved to Louisiana and we were having beef withdrawals. The restaurant is open for lunch weekdays and then open for dinner only on Saturday. It is located in what appears to be an old home. While it isn't fancy, it does have a $$$ menu. We had just visited the old State Capital and were traveling with two young teens. The menu has hamburgers and some sandwiches, but everyone goes for the steak. We had the famous tamales, hamburgers, and two giant t-bones. The were cooked to perfection. Med rare. Very tender. Served with boiled potatoes. On my husbands birthday, we returned for an adult only dinner. 2 porterhouse steaks. PERFECTION! The crab asparagus appetizer is outstanding. Full bar. It is a place for beef lovers.
