If you love nature and beautiful mountain views you will love the Gorge area. My family visits this area almost every year. We rent a cabin and take hikes. My grandsons camp out here several times a year with the scouts.

I have traveled all over the US. The Red River Gorge is almost in my back yard and I keep going back. It's beautiful any time of the year. If you enjoy hiking, this is the best place to come and get off the beaten path. Natural Bridge is pretty but there is so much more to this area. Pick up a book about all the different hikes and features the "Red" has to offer. In the summer and most weekends you can find cars parked along the road and in the parking lots from all over the US. There any many natural bridges, arches, rock houses and other rock formations. The views from the top of these out croppings are as pretty as any view you will ever see. Drive through Nada tunnel, sky ride up to Natural Bridge, canoe the River (sping) then explore all the other natural areas. You wont be sorry. I keep going back year after year.

This has to be one of the most gorgeous places on Earth. There's places for novice hikers, places for families, places for backpackers and you can go out into the forest and feel like the only person in a prehistoric world. It's truly unique. High cliffs though in some spots, not good for children who don't listen or adults who like to get drunk and wander off at night.

Hiked the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge areas. The weather was perfect and the trails were not crowded. The walk was peaceful with tranquility. Plan on going back in the Spring/Summer timeframe :)
